Hi I want to teach Cisco training (routing & switching) either via a membership site (monthly fee) or a one off fee for videos. How do I know I have lots of demand for this

What considerations do I need in deciding a monthly fee membership?

Along with the monthly fee (19 for the first month and then 49 monthly), nothing, really, except for maybe about 10-15 dollars annually if you are going to buy your own domain name for your website. $10-15/year for only one domain name. If you are going to buy more than one, then you are going to pay more. Other than that, WA takes care of it. :) Hope this helps!

Hi there!
Ok, first off, let me stress that this is my *opinion* and I am not the best expert on this, but... At a quick glance it seems like there is pretty decent demand, so I think it's worth a shot.

I would personally go with a membership site with a monthly fee.if there are a lot of videos. If you do a one-off fee, you could probably charge more, but lose out if the member requires several months to get through all the videos.

Conversely, if you do a monthly charge but at a lower rate, you don't really want them to blitz through everything in their first month... So it probably depends on how much content you will have, how fast you will get it up, and how often you will update and add to it.

I would also focus on the keywords and build around that.

Again, this is my opinion, for what it's worth.

Hey Craig, thank you I appreciate your feedback. Can I ask what you did as a quick glance? This is the bit I am trying to work out as a newbie at the moment but not sure what to do here. Membership is the ideal I think, if I can create lots of videos. It will take me quite a while that is the challenge. Thanks Again Craig!

I didn't really get rolling for a while... I was a slow starter and have been less aggressive about building my site than some others.

My first site was just a simple niche site, no membership or anything. I started it partly for fun while I was doing certification, but decided to stick with it.

Somewhere along the way, I put it on the back burner and started to focus on a WA promotion site, which is still more of my focus at the moment.

If you are concerned about not having enough content for a membership site, you could simply charge a flat fee until you build up enough content to make the switch. At that point, members may or may not stick with you if they have already "seen it all", but you should also be getting more traffic at that point, and new members could come in as monthly.

It has been a while since I touched any of the membership stuff, so I don't remember all the options, but I believe you can also set it up so that the early members can pay the set fee and then remain as free members once you go monthly. (I am not 100% sure about that, but I believe there was that option).

Hey Craig, hope you had a good weekend. I have had many setbacks in my previous attempts online, so keep at it. I think I will charge a flat fee and go from there because to build a membership site I need lots and lots of content. On the weekend I see a guy advertising for free a whole Cisco CCNA (vendor certificate) on youtube. Just one video he has 2.2M Views (incredible-amazing actually). His website, has nothing much on it, all I see is google adwords. I wonder if he receives a great deal of $$ from just this. I also think if there is free training online, can I create a successful product online via a fee, when its available for free :) - When you checked the demand for my niche Craig, what did you actually do? Just want to understand this a bit better myself.

Nothing fancy. I just used Jaaxy to check some keywords and see how many searches were being done.

I just got to the Jaaxy part and I see lots of possibilities with the low competition KW's and Volume per month. :) - Thanks Craig _ really do appreaciate it!
