A Social Networking Service is a media outlet that focuses on finding people to interact online. They are formed by people who share a relationship, friendship mainly maintain common interests and activities, or are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others.

Each of us has a favorite social media platform. Some people are addicted to Facebook, check the pages every hour, while sneaking an occasional glimpse of their personal news feeds, while others cringe at the thought of life without Twitter. More recently, Pinterest and Vine have gotten a lot of attention, then the constant is one of the bunch, LinkedIn, favored by middle managers, general managers and job seekers. This Reddit and Quora, Flickr and Instagram, Ning and Bing, Google and Yelp is added all tend to be addictive.

So how do you know where to go? With the exception of Facebook, there is no platform that every business should be on.

Facebook
Is a social networking website created by Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin founded by Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz. Originally a site for students at Harvard University, but it opened to anyone with an email account.

In mid-2007 launched versions in French, German and Spanish translated by users so unpaid, primarily to fuel its expansion outside the United States, since its users are concentrated in the United States, Canada and the UK. Facebook has over 900 million members, and translations into 70 languages in January 2013, Facebook reached 1230 million users of which there are over 600 million mobile users. Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico and the United States are the countries with the user, however, and there are users who have more than one account.

Its main infrastructure consists of a network of over 50,000 servers using distributions of GNU / Linux operating system using LAMP.

On April 9, 2012 it was announced that Facebook acquired Instagram per 1000 million
YouTube. Over 3 billion videos are viewed on YouTube every day. It's pretty easy to publish videos that are related to the products or services of your business. Even two minutes of home movies can inform their customers and even inspire virality.

The production quality is superior to a total amateur could create, but it would be so hard to create something home that captures the same flavor. We use YouTube as a resource for our users, upload videos and all-to-use-fast-how shortstack tutorials. It is also the place where we store our weekly webinars to get started.

Twitter. People either love or hate Twitter (or, more accurately, that do not understand). If you're in the latter camp, we urge you to commit to it for a few weeks and then see what you think. By engaging point we mean some key players in the business segment, followed them, and see how to reach your customers. Read the content link. It is likely that this exercise will give you some ideas on how to better market their own brand or service. At first it will be confusing. Following people on Twitter is like having a glimpse of a rare secret world, where people are sharing all kinds of interesting information. Yes, there are a lot of junk, too, so you have to be selective about who to follow. Books have been written about using Twitter, but to start, go to Twellow, a directory of Twitter users broken down by "industry". This will help you narrow your focus. It is a simple service for smart people. Give it a couple of weeks and let us know what you think via Twitter, of course @ SamaMerced.

LinkedIn
. This social network is mistakenly thought of as a website job search. It is much, much more. Once you set up a profile for your business, look for LinkedIn groups that are related to your business. They exist for professionals in specific fields can meet virtually to discuss topics related to their industries. By joining and participating in groups that can keep up with what's happening in your industry. Of course, it is also ideal for networking.

Google+. Google + has not reached the popularity of Facebook, or Twitter, but we go: it's Google. Today has 400 million users and is only a matter of time before lots more people are on it. Meanwhile, why not get a jump start and at least establish a profile for you and make it a place where you can start conversations with their customers. The establishment of "circles" on the platform will allow multiple target marketing messages to specific groups of customers. Personally for me Google+ is much more global than others networks previously mentioned.

Instagram. We have heard tells us that one of the best ways to get content shared on Facebook and beyond is to include great visuals. Instagram, the photo sharing site, makes it easy and fun. Many of the companies were the first users of Instagram and you can see some of the innovative ways to use the application here. Some of them might inspire you.

Pinterest Is a social network for sharing images that allows users to create and manage thematic personal boards, image collections such as events, interests, hobbies and more. Users can browse other pinboards, 're-pin' images to give them their own collections or likes.

Pinterest's mission is to connect everyone in the world through things they find interesting. Founded by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra and Evan Sharp.3 The site is managed by Cold Brew Labs and funded by a small group of entrepreneurs and investors. Its name is derived from the sum of two English words "pin" and "interest".

Pinterest users can upload, store, organize and manage images, known as pins, and other multimedia content (video for example) through collections called pinboards or boards. The Pinboards are usually custom, this means that the pins or publications can be easily organized, ranked and found by users. Pinterest acts as a personalized media platform, so your own content, as well as publications of any other person, can be found on the main page.

Users can save their favorite publications, one of their own boards using the "Pin It" button. The content can also be found off Pinterest and similarly can be published on a board through the "Pin It" button that you can download to your bookmarks bar in a web browser, or be run by a webmaster directly on the web.

Pinterest also gives you the opportunity to price products by inserting in the description box symbol dollar or pound ahead of quantity. That way the price is shown as a label at the top of the image.

This is another tool we use daily to promote my products and promote Wealthy Affiliates University.

The key to all these platforms and by any means of social communication, engages in - make your message is integrated through all of them. On his Facebook page should have links to your website and make it easy for people to follow you on Twitter. In your Twitter profile you should have a link to your website or blog. In your blog you should have a sign in your newsletter. And so on ....

Now we want to know: Which social media platform works best for your business?

Social Media is undoubtedly one of the most important icons of the web. In these powerful platforms, users can interact with each other forming real graphs, where the vertices are the users and the lines connecting them are the way they are related.
Mounted on the main structure, social networks incorporate a number of tools such as:
Messaging,Chat,Publisher pictures and videos ,Birthday Calendar, Wall users and etc.

Thematic Social Networks
have the main features of social networks, but incorporate specialized tools and information structures.
Examples of this specialization are:

The Pinterest stats surprise me.
Only 4.8 % male, wow.

It's weird, right? At least I use it every day!

So do I.

I love Facebook for personal use haven't added any social media to my business yet

Try first with a Fan Page if you want to keep your business out of your personal life. Thanks for commenting @Crystal2010

I love Google+ most. I still have a Facebook page and profile for my website, but I'm not a fan of Facebook and its "ethics". I hope that Google+ will continue to grow much faster!

Indeed!! You saw the chart that postie here? Second place!.

I don't use anything but Reddit anymore. It gets more traffic than everything else combined and when you concentrate on the communities there it only grows exponentially.

You use www.reddit.com or not? I do not quite understand! That's the site to check it? And I quote "reddit is a website about everything
powered by community, democracy, and you."

Yup, reddit.com, it's a great thing to use once you start engaging. I think there's a higher learning curve for some people, but really it's just as easy to use as anything else.

Hi Ethan,
I've just recently started using reddit do you have any advise or suggestions on how to maximize it?

Hey Jill, that depends entirely on your niche. Just search for "reddit yourniche" and look for subreddits that concentrate on it. Start watching posts there and commenting. Share your own posts and look for comments there.

Just a couple that I found right off the bat:
http://www.reddit.com/r/baby
http://www.reddit.com/r/parenting

Thank you Ethan!
