Opinion: Brands need to stop recyling the same copy paste social media marekting strategies

A lot of brands genuinely believe that their social media marketing strategies are strong, when in reality they are just copying what everyine else is doing and calling it best practice. Same hooks, same trending audios, same recycled captions with a different logo slapped on top. It looks safe, it looks polished and it looks exactly like every other brand on the feed. When brands try too hard to mirror competitors, they don't blend in, they disappear . Audiences aren't confused by this content, they are bored by this.

The biggest issue isn't effort, it's fear. Fear of standing out, fear of being disliked, fear of doing something that hasn't been validated by another brand first. So instead of building a strategy rooted in identity, values and actual audience insight, brands chase trends and mimic formats that worked for someone else. The problem is, what worked for another brand worked because it fit their voice, their timing and their community. When copied, it loses one thing that made it effective in the first place.

Social media doesn't reward brands for trying harder. It rewards brands for being clearer. Clear in who they are, what they stand they for, and how they speak. A strategy isn't goof because it's busy or or-trend. If your content could be posted by five other brands without anyone noticing the difference, it's not a strategy, it's noise. The brands that actually win are the ones willing to be uncomfortable, opinionated, and unmistakably themselves. Everyone else is just perfoming for an algorithm and hoping no one notices they have got nothing new to say.
