How I Find Trends on Instagram (My Daily Routine)

When it comes to finding trends on Instagram, consistency has made all the difference. Instead of waiting for trends to appear. I have built a simple daily routine that helps me spot them early and stay ahead.
I usually start by spending intentional time on Reels. Rather than scrolling passively, I pay attention to patterns. If I hear the same audio more than a few times or notice similar editing styles appearing across different creators, I take that as an early signal. At this stage, trends often don’t look “viral” yet—they just feel repeated.
I also make it a point to check smaller creators, not just large accounts. In my experience, newer ideas often start with them. When I see a concept being tested by multiple smaller pages, it usually means it has potential to grow.

Another part of my routine is saving content. If something stands out to me—even slightly—I save it and come back later. After a while, I start noticing overlaps between what I’ve saved, which helps confirm whether something is becoming a trend.
I also revisit Instagram’s Explore page and trending audio sections regularly. These features give a broader view of what’s gaining traction, but I don’t rely on them alone. By the time something is clearly labeled as “trending,” it’s often already in its peak phase.
Over time, this routine has helped me move from reacting to trends to recognizing them early. It’s not about spending more time online—it’s about being more intentional with how I observe, save, and act on what I see.
