When WA emails you and tells you your site got indexed, can it be a bit behind? My Google Search console says I have more articles indexed then SiteContent WA.
That's possible. As the 2 systems are not inter-linked and delays in generating reports are also vary.
I think more important is to know if the article has been indexed, whether it is from site-content or G itself does not really matter.
My opinion.

I'd go off of what the Search Console is telling you honestly, it's a direct response from them so it has got to be more accurate.

From what I understand you get one name change through Account Settings though maybe they have changed this? Could send a PM directly to Kyle/Carson and see if there's anything they can do?

each username can only be used once my Friend because anyone who isn't active at the moment can come back to being a Premium member at anytime. I have had a few referrals come back a year after signing up and not showing up.
Also, your username can only ever be changed once so when you do change it, make sure it's what you want.
