Pitfalls, Parenting, and Persistence
For many years I wanted to shake off the shackles of the 9-5 existence. I dabbled in attempts to make money online through programs like Google Adsense (I really had no idea what I was doing) and also offline through MLM. Ultimately, each time, I would end up spending more money than I would make and the 9-5 existence would continue.
Then in 2013, the decision to end the 9-5 existence was made for me - after 15 years I received a layoff from my IT position. I thought, "No big deal, I am sure I can find something else in my field." Months went by and despite applying for many positions, that something else did not transpire. I sold cars for awhile. I sold antivirus software for awhile. I tried another MLM - this one was primarily online.
The MLM did not work out, but I left with a greater understanding of marketing in the online world. The sales jobs gave me a better understanding of the sales process. My skill set was expanding.
One thing that I really came to value during some extended time at home was being there when my children got off the school bus. I no longer had to send them to a sitter, while I finished the work day. They could come home and if need be I could finish off things from my home office, while they did homework or grabbed an after school snack.
I knew that whatever I did next, I would want that flexibility to be home when my children finished school for the day.
A couple of weeks ago, I discovered Wealthy Affiliate and instantly recognized it as something I had been looking for.
First, rather than simply being just another WAY to make money online, Wealthy Affiliate is about learning HOW to make money online.
Second, there is no MLM involved. You do not have to worry about recruiting your friends, family, and acquaintances.
Third, what you learn at Wealthy Affiliate can be used to market Wealthy Affiliate (and their generous affiliate commissions) or any other affiliate program you choose.
Fourth, you can get started for free.
Fifth, remember how I mentioned earlier that I really had no idea what I was doing when I tried previously to make money online? The robust educational materials at Wealthy Affiliate can help me to overcome and even avoid some of the pitfalls I previously encountered.
I have come to realize recently that the secret to success is "persistence." I need to do something everyday (even if it is just a few small steps) that moves me closer to achieving my goals.
I am certain that with that persistence and what I am learning at Wealthy Affiliate, my goals and online success are within my reach.
Finally, I am pleased to have joined a program, where people willingly share their own knowledge with others and do what they can to help when others find themselves stuck.
Take care and all the best in your online endeavors!

Hi
I totally agree with you about the persistence and wanting to get out of the 9-5. I am in the same postion. I am involved with a MLM and whilst I have periods of this being fantastic there are others less so. Its certaintly not enough for me to quit my jon however as you say persistence is the key.
I have now built my website for my mlm company and with the help of wa have built my second business and started sharing the wa opportunity with people who I think it could help.
I am so excited about the future and determined that I can make money outside of the 9-5 also.
There is no reason why we cant achieve this.
Good Luck
