Hi, my name's Ruby and I am addicted to traveling.
I'm a full-time nurse, have been for 8 years now and have been working at a nursing home. I have been so blessed to get to know my patients at the end of their lives and have learned so much from them. I noticed those patients who passed away peacefully and happy and then there were those that passed away with the pain of REGRET. One patient of mine in particular was writhing in his pain of regret. We had a truly deep and meaningful conversation before his passing. His last words to me were, "Ruby, don't let life pass you by. Don't be at the end of your life wishing you had a Do Over button. How I wish I could press a Rewind button right now and do it all over again. I would do it all different. I would go after every dreams and would never let fear stop me. I would never care what others would think or say. In the end, what others think doesn't matter. In the end, you answer to God. It's what you do that matters. Live Ruby."
My life has never been the same since that day. Yet, all this time I've been searching for my true passion, my purpose, and I finally recently found what that is. Although I love being a nurse, I do not like what I've seen with the corporate facilities views of priorities. I've come to realize that I can still help people, only now in a different way. As I make my true passion a reality, I choose to help others discover theirs as well and be a part of helping people create their reality by design.
My true desire is to be my own boss and travel the world, to have Liberty and Autonomy. I desire Time Freedom and Financial Freedom as do so many people. I aspire to being a Professional Network Marketer, Internet Marketer and Affiliate Marketer.
I enjoy all outdoor activities and anything that has to do with the water, be it lakes and beaches. I love boating, jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, rock climbing and oh my god, DRUMMING!
Oh and I live in Austin, Texas so if anyone is from Austin we could form a group and learn from one another. I look forward to making new friends in the community. Feel free to reach out and connect anytime.
Update 3/22/18: After 7 days as a premium member and following the Online Entrepreneur Certification I began what is the bare bones of my business and wrote my first Article. I woke up this morning to find that my website was indexed by Google and received the Google Badge here in WA.
Put in the effort and the work, take action, follow the step-by-step process laid out in the Online Entrepreneur Certification Course as well as Affiliate Bootcamp. I'm currently going through both of them. If you complete each task and lesson you will begin to have some success.

It is sad as you mentioned how many people wish they would have done things when they had the opportunity instead of now wondering about what if!

Good advice from one of your patients. We should do what we want to do in life, those we like, passionate about. Whether the end result is a failure or not, it doesn't matter. At least we did it. This, I believe, is what the patient trying to tell us. Do not live with regret we did not do this, do that. "Just Do It" is Nike slogan. I like it and continue to practice it in my daily life.
When I feel like blogging on this platform and share my thought, I just do it, even English is not my native language.
May all of us do what we like and without fear and doubt. Success is not the result, but the first step that we step forward. It is already a success to me.

Hi Ruby, welcome to WA. I am working on both courses as well. My sister was a nurse for 37 years and her passion was horses and her family. She passed away a couple years ago from breast cancer just before she was going to retire. It was sad and glad she is no longer suffering. She had a heart of gold.
You have a heart for people and a drive to go after your dreams. When you can find a balance to serve humankind, feed your spirit, and pursue your passions in life you will be blessed. What became part of your epiphany from your experience with one of your patients was a gift to you and is so true. Best of success.

Thank you so much and I'm so sorry about your sister. I respect the fact she was a nurse all those years. Even though it's a rewarding career it is very stressful physically and mentally.
That special moment with my patient was really the turning point in my life. I tell his story for him and for others in hopes that maybe it will make an impact in someone else's life as well.

As an occupational therapist, I often worked in nursing homes as well. And I certainly can relate to your disillusionment with the companies that we worked for. They had no concept of the term "quality of life" or "good patient care".
I was really touched by the story of your dying patient's last words. It was a true gift that he left you. Thanks for sharing.
When I initially started working in nursing homes after working in psychiatry in hospital and out patient genres, the company I worked for was owned by 2 PTs and an OT. It was heaven working for them because they truly understood what we were supposed to be doing.
But then the little fish kept being swallowed up by larger ones until we were owned by a monster that cared nothing about our patients or quality patient care. All they cared about was the bottom line and how much they could squeeze out of Medicare.
OK, rant over!
I am happy that we both found an alternative to working in those circumstances, and wish you lots of success here at WA.

Hello Ruby, I came across your profile quite by accident and thought Wow!..another nurse. I agree with your sentiments about the corporate side of nursing. Our Government is trying to run the NHS into the ground so we have no choice but to privatise.

Thank you Paul. Yes it's quite disheartening to see they put profits over medical care. They then keep all the bonuses and go on corporate cruises and yet we see none of that nor share on the cruises.
It just breaks my heart for the patients though.

Hi thanks for the reply. Maybe writing a book might be your "calling" giving a voice to those who cannot speak physically but through your Love and Passion they can express what
they wanted to but never did, be it ego or whatever reason they did not express it.

Hi Ruby I am Ed from Canada. I am 61 and listening to what you said is so Beautiful. The story you said this man told you before he died is word for word what I would have said Having done this work for as many years it must have put you to thinking...what really happens once the physical body dies ? Is there a contiunity or does everything end with the death of the body. You should write a book of what you lived, these people for whom you could be a voice for. What a great story. I have met a few at the end of their lives too, as a caregiver, but I have only seen regrets, it is sad. It took me until my 40's to learn it doesn't matter what others think. I have found that very freeing.
