First, you create your thoughts. Then, your thoughts create you.
You know, we live in a physical world, right?
We can touch, we can feel, we can sense. We breathe. So we exist, we are alive. We can see, hear and smell. Everything's real, right? Or...is not?
As I said in a previous blog post that I have created, I am attracted to philosophy and most of my ideas are mine, but based of my knowledge (things that I have read about, of course). I like to combine thoughts, to visualize scenarios, I like to overthink ideas (in the good, productive way).
So What if Life is Just an Illusion?
We tend to think that everything's real, as I said in the beginning, but if you are going to look closely, life is just a continuous illusion. Sounds crazy? Well, let's see. Our life is a combination of three major 'moments':
- The Past
What is the past? Well...all our memories that we have in this moment created until now? But does the past really exist? Is it real in logic? Take a moment and think about this: can you live a moment from your past again? Can you experience it again in reality? Actually no, right? You can only remember that moment. It's there, padded on your memory. If memory wouldn't exist, and you would've live only THIS moment, the term of past actually woudn't even exist.
The past is just our brain capacity to remember things, to store them there in our mind. It happened, but it's not happening anymore and will never happen again.
- The Future
What is the future? In simple terms, the future is our brain feature to 'predict' and imagine a possible scenario that will happen in the next moments of our lives. After 5 minutes, tomorrow, the next year and so on.
You can imagine anything you want. Your mind can create an infinite of imagining thoughts. The thing is that there's ONLY 1 THING that is going to happen and there are AN INFINITE of things that are not going to happen.
Your chance to see the future is one divided by an infinite. Which equals...0. So the impossibility of knowing the EXACT thing that will happen leads us to the fact that the future is just in our mind. It's never going to come. It's never going to be here. It's just our imagination.
- The Present
Well, this is the most incredible and the most unbelievable fact. The present should...exist, right? What if I tell you it doesn't?
So the present is what we call NOW. The present is what's happening now, right? But, wait a second. Here: When you say 'now', aren't there an infinite of moments? Let's look closer.
Can you divide a second by 10? Yes you can, that would be 0.1 seconds.
Can you divide a second by 100? Yes you can, that would be 0.01 seconds.
And you can do that to the infinite.
The conclusion is that there ISN'T the smallest moment in our life. The smallest moment in our life doesn't exist. No matter how small it is, it still can be divided. BY AN INFINITE.
So that, right there is the conclusion. The present doesn't exist either. It's just a continuous illusion.
LIFE IS A CONTINUOUS ILLUSION.
Be careful! You might understand the phrase "Life is just a game" differently from now on.
Pay attention on your thoughts. They are just as real as...your life is.
First, you create your thoughts. Then...your thoughts create you.

The vast majority of all that we experience as humans is an illusion.
What we think of as reality is only our PERCEIVED reality and is pretty much unique to us.
This is why dozens of people can witness an event (say an accident) and when interviewed (by police, etc) they each give their own account with many of them describing very different things.
Everything we hear, see, etc is filtered according to our beliefs, our desires, our fears. This is also why one person can say something to a second person... perhaps a very good thing... even expressing love... and yet the second person can experience it completely differently... insulting, rejection, pain.
There is always an actual reality but for humans it is by far "in our heads".
And this is a fantastic thing. Because it means we can truly change our reality by simply changing our mindset.
There is a massive power here for people who understand this.
Yeah, thought comes first. You first have to have a vision of yourself, where you want to be, who you want to become. Then you can work on that.
Working on our mind is as important as the physical work we do in life and many people underestimate it.
Although life is an illusion, we still have to live our lives 365 days a year. Every single hour, every single minute. And we can make it the life we want as we are creators of our lives.
