Nearing a year with Wealthy Affiliate

It's almost one year now since I joined Wealthy Affiliate as a Premium Member. Have definitely learned a lot from my experience and have put plenty of time and effort into my studies and content of the webpage which I have created, which covers my thoughts and ideas on weight loss and general well-being.

Have now reached a stage where I am becoming disappointed and unmotivated as I would have thought by now that a few £'s would have rolled into my bank account. Have invested almost £500 and not a penny has shown up in my bank account. Zero, zip, nothing.

Have been disappointed with Amazon and cannot believe that nothing has come from all the prospective clients I have sent their way. Understand 100% that my website should be helpful and enjoyable and truly think that it is. It isn't a site where all my content is focused on selling although I do have " a shop," where people can buy equipment and books etc which lead from my content.

I have my doubts that someone like myself with very little hands on computer knowledge can make a go of Wealthy Affiliate.

Needed to put this out early in the New Year as if I am going to be guided and assisted, then it will have to be now or never. Not sure that I am going to continue trying to get my online business up and running for much longer. Some will say that a year is nothing when one is trying to build a business but I'm saying that a year is a long time when absolutely no money is coming in. It's like a bicycle tube. Once it is punctured the wheel will slowly deflate and eventually the bicycle will not be going anywhere, unless the hole in the tube is repaired. I have got to admit that I can't see myself repairing the hole in my business. Don't know how too.

Know that many folk out there have the same problem as I do but are not prepared to put out a blog about how they feel. I've truly yet to come across one person who I have made friends with on WA who have said that they are making money. That doesn't fill me with any kind of hope.

I have sent out many, many of my webpages to various email addresses and the replies I can count on my one hand. I have been active on the one-for-two comment facility provided and although I always receive very positive comments here, there have been no sales. Folk are like me here, we comment because we want to earn a merit, but we have no intention to buy. So we have all these wonderful comments at the bottom of our webpages but no sales. Reminds me a little of a charity organisation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog and sorry if it upsets certain folk, but this is just how I feel at the present moment. Just being honest. Look forward to hearing your comments on this blog.

I think that you should consider guest posting for other health blogs (if you haven't already tried it).

This would help give you an assessment of your work from people who have successful blogs in your niche. It would also help drive traffic to your blog and raise awareness of it (make sure that you link to your blog in your bio).

It would raise your authority. It can also help your blog rank better, in the long run.

Even if you write a post that doesn't get accepted by other sites, you can revise it and post it to your own site. It really is a win-win all around.

Honestly, I haven't tried this out myself yet, but I think that you should consider it. Just make sure that you write a really good, long, in-depth post for someone (really over deliver with the content)

This sounds like a good possibility and I'd really like to give it a try. Could you please give me a little guidance on this as I have no idea of where/how to get started? Would be very much appreciated.

Thank you .

Here is a guide on how to guest post: https://blog.kissmetrics.com/guide-to-guest-blogging/

Jay also has a WAbinar about the 7 Best Traffic Strategies in 2018 and gives some information about how to start guest blogging. You should definitely check that out.

A good first step would be to find some leading blogs in your niche and see if they accept guest posts. Like if you are in the health niche, you can search "health niche guest blog" and find some list of top blogs that accept guest posts (though you should double check, because sometimes blogs stop accepting guest posts).

If you find a good one, you should look around at their content to get an idea of what they tend to post, so that your post can fit in. You should also leave some comments so that you can get on their radar.

Those are some first steps for guest posting.

I wish you the best.

I would love to tell you that you are just about to break through... In fact, maybe you are. It's really hard to say, though, because so much depends on what you have been doing, how frequently and reliably you have been working on your site, what your niche is etc etc etc.

I know that there are people here who went about 18 months before having any success, but at that point, things *really* took off in a dramatic fashion.

Losing motivation in the worst. I understand that and truly wish I could help with that.

Are you getting many comments on your site? What kind of feedback? I know that I personally tend to overlook the option to get feedback from the community. Frankly, I just forget to ask. That is possibly something you want to look into. It may help.

I am not an expert by any means, but if you want me to take a look, maybe I can share some thoughts?

Hi Craig and thanks for your thoughts. So you actually know of people who had things take off after 18 months ? You say that you tend to overlook the option of getting feedback from the community, where then do you find feedback ? Would love fro you to take a look at my website, even if you have just one little piece of advice which you could give me.

Yes, there are people who start to see results after about that time. I don't want to speak on their behalf, but you can probably find their posts if you look.

I have been here since April 2016, though I only got serious at the end of October. So, even if you just count from October, I have been here more than a year. I have, in that time, made one premium referral and I think 3 sales on my site....

I am, however, earning money online now doing content writing, and that came about at least in part through what I have learned here at WA... My earnings aren't spectacular yet (about $500/ month) but it is growing and it is very encouraging.Plus, my site is gradually picking up traffic.

As for feedback, I tend to forget about it altogether. I haven't had feedback (as opposed to comments) in many, many months. I need to start looking for some again.

I will happily look at your site later today.

Sending you a PM
