A Three-Part Rough 2020 Story, Mercifully Not Mine

Yesterday I talked with a man I know in my town. In the course of that, I learned that he had a rough 2020, about the worst I've heard of.

First, he got covid-19. He's only about 50 (young to me) but does have some extra weight. He had covid for three weeks. One week he couldn't walk much, another week he could hardly breathe, and his third-week travail was a fever.

Well, he got over all that and doesn't seem to have any residuals, good reason for the smiley face among the frowns above.

Then his wife fell hard. She broke some bones but the hospital wouldn't take her because she tested positive for covid. So for some time she could only take pain pills and my friend had to do everything for her. She is over it now.

Then later he had to go to another city to help his father who is 80 plus, go through covid-19. When they told him his dad was getting better, he came back home. Then he got a phone call that his dad had passed away.

I call that a rough 2020. He did tell me that in 2019 he and his father had traveled around to a number of major league baseball games, and having the memories of their fun together was a consolation.

I'm not sure I want to know if you can top that! Uh.. can you?

Bad things happen, Rosana! I'd say this man has had more than his quota! 🙏🙏

It is said disaster comes in threes, we hope that is true, Rosana. Maybe things will get better, but still mourning.

Thank you for sharing, Rosana.
I definitely can't top that, nor would want to.

Thank you for sharing, Rosana.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend's dad passing.

I agree that 2020 has been a rough year for most of us.

Hopefully, it will get better by next year or later.

Myra

Thank's! Rosana!
Thank you so much for sharing; how sad for your friend and his Dad. Thanks to that, your away from Covid 19. Take care!
All the best,
Joyce
