Hi Fam, it's a nice and sunny day here in Greek land, it's kinda windy though, so that makes it cold, the sky is clear so the snow covered mountains in the distance makes the day look beautiful.

Anyway, the point of this post is not to convey how nice the weather is here in Greece, but rather to say my deepest thank you to all of you who helped me with my move yesterday.

My First Website Had Many Mistakes

My website which I created when I first joined WA, was my learning website and obviously I did not know what I was doing. Because I rushed to get a domain, I did not really pay much attention to choosing a domain.

I guess I was so excited to own my own domain ( a piece of Internet real estate) that I chose a terrible domain. I chose the domain without even being sure what niche I really wanted to venture into. So by the time I had decided which niche I was going to focus on, which on it's own was a process.

I was going back and forth with Kyle and the person who referred me to this site, I had a website that had all kinds of things on it, I had an article on how to make money online, I had another article on how to chose the best skin cleanser.

And I also had an article on how to make your marriage last lol

They Told Me That I was Trying To Be Jack Of All Trades And Master Of None, Can You Imagine?

So when I asked my referrer to check on my site and see how I was doing, I expected him to give me the great news about how wonderful I was doing and how amazing my website was.

You can imagine my shock when he told me that I was not doing things the right way. I thought he was being very mean, so I decided to contact Kyle, and bless him he replied to my message.

I told Kyle how hard I have worked in a short amount of time and how I have written over 5 very helpful articles. Kyle told me that I can't be Jack of all trades and master of none.

At first, I was thinking, what are these guys talking about? haven't they seen my slider, and the little cute pictures I have everywhere on my website? plus the soo super helpful articles? lol

It Was Time To Get Serious, And Pay More Attention To The Training

Then I knew that I have to get back to the drawing board and decide what my website was going to be about. I also went back and did the training properly and paid more attention and took notes.

I decided on skincare because I was familiar with that niche because I have worked in the skincare and beauty industry for quite sometime running my own business, so I knew the ins and outs of the skincare.

Well, I did that and I have created a good number of articles on that subject, but as my website was growing, and I was learning more about being niche targeted and building a brand, I started hating my domain.

The Domain Was Terrible, It Had Dashes, And I Really Hated It

Although I let the domain renew automatically in December 2019, I knew that I will have to change that domain. I really hated it, it had dashes, and as we know domains with dashes are not really that great, because if your audience forget to put the dashes, then they will land on your competition's website.

And also as I said, it had nothing to do with my niche, it was just random words. But I was afraid of moving the site because the website is seasoned now and even making some sales.

I really didn't know if it was a good idea to move a website that is over a year old. So I spent time with Site Support here at WA, I talked to them and they advised me to move the site to a domain I like, and they also told me that there will be no problem moving the site.

They told me as soon as I purchase the domain I like, to let them know, and then just push the move button.

I Had Narrowed It To Two Domains, And I just Needed WA To Help Me Choose

Well, I have been doing reasech for domains the last week and I had narrowed it to 2 domains but there was a domain that had only two words that I also liked and I thought maybe it's not good, so I presented my case to WA family and asked them to vote on the 2 domains but I also mentioned the two word domain.

Saying that it's got two words and it's available but I don't think it matches my website that well. Well the voting started and the domain I thought was not good, it's the one that won.

I went ahead and purchased the domain, and all that remained was to push the move button. I was shaking, I don't know why I was so scared, I contacted the site support again and told them the name of the domain, they told me to press the move button.

I did it and now my website is moved, Site support told me all content and links will be intact so there is nothing to worry about.

We Shall See What Uncle Google Thinks About The Move

There some articles that are ranking well on Google so we shall see if they will drop. But even if they do, I am happy that now I can continue building the site on a domain I really like.

At this point I want to thank @TheCatherine and others who helped me make the decision. As I mentioned earlier, when I am rich and famous as a result of that website, I will mention you, when I am interviewed by Vogue, and I will give you credits for your part in my success lol.

Well, that s all I wanted to say, I realize my post today is not as creative as my previous post lol but I see my rank is still improving I am at 68 now so if I make it to top 50 I will bring to yet another creative article.

Its already developing in my head, so brace yourselves lol @Twack you better move over because I am taking your spot :)
