It is alarming to see how easily poisoned foods can reach our supermarket shelves and as a result, our table. What, you may ask, does eating poisoned foods have to do with you. What does this have to do with online business and becoming wealthy?

Read on because you may be surprised to find out the extent to which producers and marketers go to sell you foods that are laced with poisons. All in the name of making money from unsuspecting consumers. The pieces of the puzzle will soon fall into place.

This blog is not about some obscure problem in distant parts of the world - it is aimed at raising awareness about toxic foods that may sitting on your shelves at home or worst yet that you have already consumed.

Poisoned foods have been in the news in recent years and one of the main focus has been tainted food produced in China. I encourage you not to get complacent - it's not just about some nasty foods being produced and eaten in China. Do eat travel globally? You could be exposed. Do you buy and eat imported foods? You could be eating poisoned foods. Do you eat out? You get my drift. We are all risk.

The following video highlights some of the tainted foods out there. There are many more! For me, this is not just about China! It's about poisoned food wherever it is produced and marketed for human consumption.

The lesson I take from this is the extent of man's inhumanity for the sake of a dollar (in some industries, many dollars). It is also a lesson of what not to do as marketer - sell unwholesome products just because someone is willing to buy it.

The product that really caught my attention in the video was gutter oil. It is reported that a lot of it is produced in China - some for the export market. Alarming! What's also alarming is that refined gutter oil is said to be difficult to distinguish visually from good cooking oil. This stuff is not just nasty, it's loaded with toxins and cancer-causing substances.

Awareness is the first stage in the battle against the scourge of poisoned foods. Are you taking your stance by only buying and consuming foods that meet the most stringent production standards? Do you take an active interest in finding out the sources and and ingredients of the foods you consume? Yes? If not, today is a good day to start.

It's often said that the body is one's temple. You determine what goes into your temple. At the risk of sounding cliche, what is wealth without good health? NOTHING!

OK, I was totally grossed out by the oil! I ate MANY meals in China!! I'm glad I had my shots for a number of reasons though! I'm beginning to think we should just grow our own food but then we can't do it all. Dr Oz just had a story on how many metals are found in our foods. Scary stuff!

Really scary stuff! Growing your own produce is great where it is practical. However, many don't have this option. So what do you do? Learn as much as you can about the foods that are harmful to us and avoid consuming them.

Olive oil and very Lil seems to be a good solution. You are right I was having this very same discussion with a friend last night about GMO'S and how where not sure what we are getting ourselves into.
I just got done being in and out of the hospital and without all the details this is what it came down to. Greg the Dr said you have to change your diet and his strong suggestions where to add more vegetables and foods that would lower the acidity in my body.
Wow it about blew my mind cause for at least 2 years I have be lead by my unconscious mind to Web sites to do this very same thing. What a trip it's been I tell you. So what have I learned from all this. That I must pay more attention to the little things I don't pay attention to and give them more attention because they do matter. Perhaps you could research alkaline foods vs ph food, this may help you.

Hi Roger - I know where you are coming from. My Dad warns me all the time - processed meats are poisonous due to what they are soaked in to preserve them! My old Dad would make a great naturalist for food! He had a heart attack about 40 years ago and learned from that! Two more since, obviously genetic, and still alive at 84 years of age. I hear where you are coming from!

Amen Berny, you could probably write a set of books about the stuff "clever entrepreneurs" do to produce mystery meat. Want to know what's frightening it's so nicely packaged, flavored and marketed that many of us are sold on it. Don't believe? Check out what's in some of the most popular nuggets, sausages, etc.

Interesting Roger G, the other problems with food is GE crops grown on depleted soils, then over processed with too much sugar and preservative. The food supply processes are seriously compromised in a number of ways. This is reflected by the rise in chronic health conditions as people's immune systems struggle to cope.

Good to bring this matter to other's attention.

Thanks for sharing Berny. There are so many poisoned foods out there its mind boggling. There are processed meats that are stabilized; flavored, glued (yes, glued), colored, etc with harmful chemicals; agricultural produce tainted with ... the list goes on and on. We just have to be very vigilant. Bless you

By the way, you should never be cooking with anything else then cold pressed olive oil.

Rice Bran Oil too - I've heard it is great as it has a high smoking point meaning less carcoingens

Annick, certainly good quality organic olive oil is one of the healthy oils to cook with. I would add coconut oil to the list also. It has many health benefits and allows a higher cooking temp if required.
