I have an affiliate account with Amazon, have chosen a product to promote, copied the link from Amazon, inserted a link into my post, published it, and yet when I click on the link
I'm having trouble posting a link from amazon affiliates?

When copying the code, it's easy to include an extra space or miss the tags without realizing it, and then it won't work. This training might help:

Jude, Actually Amazon has a button to highlight the code and all I have to do is copy and paste. I'll look at that training. Thanks for your quick reply.

Thanks so much, a simple answer in the first 5 minutes. Copying the link to text instead of visual. I knew that:)

Oh wait, I had another question: I have 4 pages, and my posts all go to one of them, either by some default or dumb luck. I would like to post on a different page, but don't see an option. Thanks Jude.
In WP Settings > Reading, be sure to set "your latest posts" as the front page that visitors see first when they arrive at your domain URL.
See the image below for this setting.
Setting the front or opening page to a static page or blogroll is optional. In your case I recommend that you set the front page to your blog posts and continue to add posts via WP > Posts > Add New.
It is tempting to set up a static home page to explain to visitors what your site is about, but on your site the topic is clear and does not need to be explained.
Later you might change the front page to a static one, but while building out your site it is better to have visitors first arrive to the blogroll.

Thanks Jude, I'm still trying to get my head around certain concepts. Your directions always help to point me to a solution. Did you actually look at my site?
Robert
To make a post, in the WP left menu, Select > Posts >Add New.
If you don't see the left menu in WP Admin, you may have it in collapsed mode. Go to the bottom of the left menu and click on the symbol at the end to open or un-collapse the menu.
If you still can't find it, send me a private message with your login username and pw and I will take a look to see what's going on.

I do see the readings settings, and the menu is not collapsed. I see the options on the readings settings, can I change that with every post? That doesn't make sense. I'll fiddle with it and report back.
Robert
Once you set your front page display to "latest posts", and saved it in the readings settings, that's it. No fiddling required. From then on, all of your posts will go to your blogroll and resolve to your main URL
http: // your domain . com
You do not change it with every post. You want all your POSTS to end up on your blogroll.
The content of your site should be 90% blog posts, and only about 10% static pages (4 or 5 static pages at the most -- about me, privacy policy, contact page, and one or two other pages that you may wish to add.).
