I have been running my website for a while now and run affiliate ads on it. However, a new situation appeared before me. I was contacted via the contact on my website by a vend

I would never add a foreign language app to my site if I did not speak the language and could evaluate it thoroughly, but that's just me.

Mel,

Thanks for the tip. I was a little taken back by the foreign language myself, but I thought that we are so international with the internet as it is today. I checked the website associated with the email that I received and found that it is an app that guides tourist through Naples, Italy. The website is in English and Italian. The app is within my niche (my website is on traveling tips). Perhaps they may offer the promotion in English.

Bob

If you can trace it back to a legit site then it might be OK to allow them to advertise with you, but I'd insist on communication in English.

Mel,

Thanks again for your input. I still have the problem about what to charge and how I would set this up.

Bob

That I can't help you with. Were it me, I'd do research into how much PPM (Pay Per Million) ads are running for your niche, and charge them a similar rate.

Thanks again, Mel. I will look into this.

I have used the comments section of WA and received a comment that has nothing to do with the topic, but instead is a critique of the blog. I appreciate the advice that was giv

Method 1, try to figure out who this is, and contact them here on WA, via PM, if possible.

-- Did this blog comment come in as a result of the "Community Feedback" app, here on WA?

Check your "Credits" link at the top to see if this might be the case, in case the person also posted "feedback". They might have been confused about the community comment vs community feedback options.
-----------

Method 2 is email. Commenters are suppose to add their email. This should be in your users section.

Other than that, you will need a specialized plugin.
Search wordpress.org/plugins.

Fran,

These are some great ideas. I always try to find the person in WA, but the name on the comment was not on the WA membership site. However, by tracing the Gravatar link to his website and then using the name of his website, I found him on WA. Quite a bit of detective work. Thanks for the help.

Bob

Wow, that is detective work! Good job.

Jovo has a great answer if you find them in the WA community credits area. It is highly likely that they were confused. ;)

--Fran

You reject the comment and you will get your credits back after some time. People are not supposed to comment about the site in general, only about the content of the text.
.
To reject, you will have to write a few words why.

Thanks for the help, Jovo. I didn't know I would get my credits back.

I didn't know that, Jovo. Such a nice feature, since no doubt more than one person has gotten confused between the two distinct choices. Thanks for the info! :)
--Fran

I have experienced it several times so it is sure the credits come back.

Carson also said this but I was skeptical in the beginning. So do not hesitate to reject if it is not a correct comment.

When you disapprove a comment inside WA, a box will appear for you to write to the commenter directly.

Thanks SVez! That sure seems simple enough.
