This is a little story that I felt would be nice to share with you all. It happened just this week.
I have been helping my young apprentice and his family after his father recently passed after a major stroke.
Helping them by some words of advice and help, but also getting their properties in order and for sale or rent. Affairs were not in the best order.
While tidying up some minor electrical work and plumbing work in one of the attics we came across a publication right up my alley and from my early times in the construction industry in the UK. It is relevant to the world of affiliate marketing in a roundabout way, images with practical and informative information in a niche.
The edition published in 1985 by the Sunday Times called The Book Of Do-It-Yourself.
All images hand drawn by artists, fantastic articles (todays blogs) on how I remember the construction industry back in those days. No affiliate links other than the name of the Sunday Times prominent on the front cover, prices of work that it is hard to even think about. Painting the complete outside of a 3-4 bedroom detached house with a separate garage, no PVC anywhere, metal and wooden windows, £375 to $463 including all materials and equipment rental for ladders.
And in some instances, quoting materials or practices deemed unsafe these days. All in colour too.
It’s a real little treasure and a journey down memory lane.
