How Does One Convert an XML File To HTML?
Does anyone know how to convert an xml file to html ready for a web page?
I'm asking this as I'm getting inquiries from Squidoo folks who are wanting to use their downloaded xml backups and put them onto a web page in html.
Any ideas out there?

Hi Rob,
This may help you

Hey Rob,
While I agree it's not a perfect solution, I am not sure how any solution could easily transfer images and other multimedia assets without having some kind of authorization issues to deal with. The text that you copy and paste is one thing. But you can't do that kind of transfer easily with other multimedia assets

Jim
Please tell me if I'm not getting this. The downloaded XML backups are from a WordPress website. They can be reinstated to a WordPress website using Tools-> Import-> WordPress. There is no need for HTML, that's "old school" and almost obsolete now we have WordPress. The XML backups do not include Media which would have to be uploaded separately. ~Marion
No, the backups are from Squidoo's own servers in their own format - and converted into xml.
But, maybe I should try what you suggest to see what happens.
Thanks, Marion!
Hi Rob.
I've not used Squidoo - so I'm not 10% sure what you're being asked - but if you browse to an XML file in your browser, it will display it on the screen for you.
All browsers these days can do that.
So I'm not sure you need to convert whatever it is - maybe just pass them the XML file, and they should be able to read/display it.
Cheers, Mark
Hi Mark,
When Squidoo members download their lenses, they are downloaded in xml format. The desire is to make an html web page out of that xml file.
I have tried running them through Adobe Dreamweaver, but unsuccessfully. The images and overall formatting is non-existent, but I suppose that is how it is!
What I'm looking for is a way to turn that xml file into a fully working web page (as it was in Squidoo) - whether it's in html or not.
I see there are XML Converters out there, but not sure which way to turn.
Rob
Squidoo was fine while it was Squidoo! Now it has been taken over by HubPages, thus this question. I have a lot of content there that I want to be able to use without too much fuss!
