How Does It Work?
I have a skin care website so I also see loads of skin care pins and blogs.I see that there are so many skin care blogs with home made products.Aloevera, tea, tomato, lemon, banana and whatever. Now I have never been really someone to use home made skin care products but I`m curious to know something.
If someone is blogging about home made facial care products, how do you make money? I have tried to check some of these blogs but can really not figure out what they sell for affiliate products.
I mean most of the products tea bags, ice, lemon, banana, milk or whatever, I can`t figure out how it`s possible to make money.Sorry If im sounding ignorant here but really curious.

Here's one ingredients list I found for a natural foaming honey facial cleanser:
1/3 cup (120 g) honey
1/3 cup (80 ml) castile soap
3 tablespoons distilled water
1 teaspoon avocado oil
2 to 3 drops essential oil
*note, ingredients lists of a recipe are not under copyright)*
They went on in the recipe to talk about the best types of honey, castile soap, avocado oil, and essential oil to use. I suspect their biggest money maker is the essential oil because there are many sell from home programs for different brands but even pointing out a specific brand of castile soap and linking to the amazon or suggesting a particular kind of dark glass jar to store it in with an affiliate link could work. You could even centralize a post of "great tools to have on hand to make your own facial cleansers" with affiliate links and then just point the recipe posts back to the tools post so you didn't have affiliate links in each post.
Thanks,to me, it sounds too hard to monetize but I`m sure there is a way as I see loads of homemade facial product pins on Pinterest, and( just my opinion) I really don`t think there is much to be made with the products, as said, most are products one already have at home.
Hey Roamy,
No, you certainly don't sound ignorant, I've wondered that too when seeing these types of sites. I think that one way may be they're either placing ads of some sort, such as Google adsense ads or something similar. Or, possibly only adding affiliate links to certain ingredients that aren't as common to have laying around the home.
At least that might be how they make some money off their site, or it could also be they have future plans of making their own "homemade" skin care product and selling it on their site for those that don't want to make it themselves...just my thoughts though.
Thanks for sharing and excellent point to bring up too!
Best wishes :) ~Sherry
Future plans sound great, selling products that are not common also makes sense. or, just blogging for fun and if any money comes from Adsense then it`s enough. I just can not see myself monetizing much from such sites.

Interesting, Roamy. Have wondered myself. I have one that is not monetized that I use as a reference. But only one. Even then, there is affiliate reference.
Thanks for the question will be interesting to see the answers.

Only 1 I can understand. The only way I can think of monetizing such site is maybe Adsense. But then, not all want to make money with blogs or, they know what products to sell.
