Memorial Day

This weekend is more than just BBQ's, and buying kegs and kegs of beer. A few hours each day this weekend, I broke away from promoting and working on my website. Spent more time with my family, looking at pictures from my military days, calling family back in Boston, sending emails to a lot of friends I served with. Despite living in Iceland, I still take the time to celebrate, and remember those whom I served with in my 8 years in the Army. Friends who are no longer here, as well as relatives. My grandfather serving in WW2, as well as his brother, uncles in the Korean, and Vietnam war, other veterans I have had the pleasure to meet from these wars.

So take the time to remember those who served. Send that someone you know a text, an email, a phone call. Say a prayer to those who never made it back, and a prayer to their families. And to the family members who kept the household together, be it if your the mother, the father, the wife, the husband, the brother, the sister, the uncle, the aunt, the best friend. They deserve recognition as well!

Thank you for your service, and great reminder. My grandfather served in WWII , my dad in Vietnam and my brother in iraq (2 tours). They all deserve a THANK YOU, A PRAYER and a moment to remember. My grandfather is gone, now but I spoke to me dad today ( he is back in Massachusetts) and I am going to talk to my brother tomorrow. I hope everyone takes a few minutes and takes the time to reach out and thank those that are serving/ have served and remember those that never made it back... they deserve at least that much :-)

Well said Digger12! Thanks to your grandfather, dad and brother. I did a tour in Albania/Kosovo, and then Iraq/Kuwait, Operation Iraqi Freedom for nearly 2 years. Thanks for commenting!
