My theme isnt very responsive, how do I check a new one?

So I love the theme I have for my current site, but it doesn't seem to be that responsive in terms of menu function etc on ipads and phones. I have contacted the developer and he is not getting back to me. Also, It seems that sometimes I can wait ages for a page image to load and the alignment is wrong. This isn't a server issue as my other site is fine. I am thinking I need to change themes, but before I install another one, is there a way to check how it might look on a phone...
