My first sale! A few days short of working on my website for a month.
I hope everyone is having a great day today because I sure am! After about a month of working on my website I just made my first sale. Technically yesterday, but it was after I fell asleep so I didn't notice it until today.
I joined the Commission Junction network and applied to some affiliate programs that accepted me. I also joined Amazon. I only have 7 pages on my website and 3 posts as of now (working on my 4th post today).
I feel really good about my website and feel like I can brand it really well. I'm proud of my content and feel like it is useful to my readers. The great thing about my niche is that new skate shoes keep coming out every year. So as the skate shoe industry grows, in a small way, my business can grow with it.
So my first commission wasn't huge, $4.55 to be exact, but I am really excited and happy about the potential of my website. My work for the last month is starting to pay off.
I wanted to write this post about my first sale because I always found it very encouraging when I would read blogs about other people making their first sales.
I also wanted to write this post in case anyone is having a hard time with their website and feels overwhelmed or feels doubtful about what they're doing. I felt that way too at times, but I pushed through it and asked for help.
I worked two years at a dairy farm where during the summer, temperatures would rise up to 123 degrees farenheit. So I understand hard work and I know that the only way to be successful is through hard work. No one's gonna hand you anything in this life.
Where I come from most people look out for themselves because we don't have much to begin with, so what we do have we have to take care of. I kind of had this pessimistic view of the world that WA has started to change. Everyone here is really nice and helpful I couldn't have done my first sale without help from others. So I wanna thank this community for that and for being so welcoming to me.
If you stay on track with your vision and your goals, take it one day at a time and never give up when the going gets tough, I don't see why we can't all be as successful as we dream to be one day.
My best wishes to everyone,
Rigo

Thank you very much Jovo. I read in your profile that you're a theoretical physicist. That's amazing, I've never met a theoretical physicist before. It sounds really interesting.

Hey that's great news! I am glad you shared. Like you said, it gives others encouragement. I just went 'live' with my site last night. It was 10:45 p.m. I have to get up at 5:30 a.m. for work. I was hurrying and just could not spend another minute. And there's some weird thing going on so that's where I'm heading now to see if I can get that sorted out before I tell the world that it's out there. I home I can make some sales as quickly as you did. It will make me feel better and it might help my husband to see that this is real! Good luck!
Yeah, I agree. Reading posts like this really encouraged me to not give up so hang in there. I'm slowly making other sales, slowly but surely. That's a really tight schedule! I'm sure as soon as you start seeing results your husband will understand haha
