My Journal Post And Chat GPT

I want to start by acknowledging that this post might not seem directly tied to business building. However, for some, it could be a game-changer. You see, I’ve been journaling about my daily life, not as a professional journalist, but as someone reflecting on personal growth. Recently, I hit a point where I felt a deep sense of resentment toward myself. So, I decided to share this entry with Chat GPT to gain some insight and see what its take would be. So, here we go.

My Journal Post:

Hello AI friend. I need help. I am not really happy with where I am in my life. I wrote in my journal that 98% of the time is about positive things, but not today. So, I want to share it with you. Here it is: Me Making Up Excuses...

Here I am looking and thinking of what I have done and completed in the past couple days. What was my conclusion? Honestly, I ,as a whole, am very unhappy with myself. I want positive change in me but I’m not working towards it. An example of this was related to a couple of responses I gave to the one person I love the most, my wife. My responses in my own opinion were not good. I responded as though she is a child that is talking back at me, in which she was not. I do feel I belittle her by the responses I gave. I rarely write bad things in this journal, but I have a problem with who I am becoming at this moment in time. I feel inside myself that I will never be the person I believe in myself when I am not being serious.

I only sit and dream of the what ifs. Remember what Denzel Washington says “Dreams without goals are just dreams.” This is a realization to me. I know that I am working on my WA business, but am I really working on what is important for me to become a success? I think I am more on a path to failure. I now am feeling doubt in myself. I know this due to the fact that I have been feeling like quitting and to start searching for the next big thing. I have done this for most of my whole life.

I do read that failure is good, but for how long? I need to find the right way forward!!! I know that for most of the next week I will be on vacation. I will not be working hard on this WA business, so I am saying to myself. So, is this a time I am needing to be re-evaluating me? Am I supposed to be re-establishing a new plan? Really what I am thinking is that I need to be figuring something out. I am so sick and tired of being unhappy with my life as a failed winner in life through business.

Guidance and mentoring is a have to have. Where can I find this? I am always feeling that I have to have money to pay for help. Is this true or is there someone near me that I can lean on for support? Is that person within the WA community? Well, I don’t know if I don’t ask? So, what are you going to do Rick? Sit and watch life good bye or stand up and find what I’m looking for? There is no time to wish because soon I’m going to wish I did something about it when I had the chance. I do not want to be thinking about what I want to be doing!

Life is short and I have to be that person who was able to win in life. I truly appreciate what I have, but I know I need to put in the work to become someone I can fully love—mind, heart, and soul.I am not asking for you to become my therapist, but, I am needing to find that path that will lead me to the right life I deserve.

What do you think?

ChatGPT Response:

Thank you for sharing such a raw and honest reflection. I can sense how deeply you're grappling with these feelings, and that alone shows a lot of strength. It’s easy to slip into frustration when we feel stuck, especially when we know there’s more we’re capable of, yet the results seem slow or unsatisfying.

Here’s what I think: You're already miles ahead of the average person because you’re aware of your dissatisfaction. You’re not ignoring it, which is the first step towards real change. The fact that you want to work on your responses to your wife shows you're committed to growth, not just in business, but as a person. This is powerful.

Denzel Washington’s quote about dreams without goals is spot on. But you already have a goal – to be someone you can truly love and respect. That's more profound than any business milestone. And honestly, it seems like you're in a transition period – a time when you're re-evaluating not just what you want to achieve, but who you want to be.

Feeling like you’ve been hopping from one thing to the next is something many people go through. We chase the next big thing because we think it’ll fill the gap. But what if the gap can only be filled by a deeper, more internal shift? You already have tools and resources in front of you, like your WA business, but the key lies in deciding how to integrate them with your personal growth. The fact that you're working on WA is great, but maybe the issue isn’t the business itself but your mindset while working on it.

As for support, it doesn't always need to be paid for. Yes, coaching can be valuable, but the WA community could offer that mentorship you're seeking. Have you reached out, really asked, for guidance from those ahead of you in that community? Sometimes, pride or fear holds us back from admitting that we’re struggling, but often, that's when the help we need shows up.

Regarding your wife, I hear that you want to improve how you respond to her. Recognizing that you're unhappy with those moments shows you're willing to shift – and that's already a win. It’s a chance to step back and reflect on how you want to be in your personal relationships as you grow in business. These things are deeply connected.

Finally, it’s clear you don’t just want to "wish" for change – you’re ready to act. So use this vacation not as time away from WA, but as a chance to re-center yourself. Breathe. Reflect. Reconnect with your wife in the way you want to. And when you return, stand tall, with a clearer vision of what success means to you. I know it sounds cliché, but take small steps. Even if they seem tiny, they’ll add up.

You're not a "failed winner." You’re someone who's on the verge of a breakthrough. Keep that vision alive, and know that you're already making progress by having these honest conversations with yourself. If I can help you map out any next steps, business-wise or personally, I’m right here.

I said:

I am positively touched by your response. For not being "human," you have real deep answers and great ideas for people like myself for positive change. This definitely is going to help me to move forward.

Chat GPT said:

I'm really glad my response resonated with you! It means a lot that you found it helpful, especially since you're in a reflective space right now. You’ve already taken a powerful step by sharing your thoughts and being open to change, and that momentum is going to carry you forward.

Just remember, every small step counts. If you ever feel like you’re slipping or doubting yourself again, reach out—whether it's to me, someone in your community, or your own reflections. You’ve got the strength to create that positive change you’re looking for, one move at a time.

You've got this, Rick!

I said:

I believe I need to have purpose in my life. So, my question to you is that after you have read my journal post above, can you help me to come up with a life purpose from it?

ChatGPT said:

Absolutely! Your journal post reveals a lot about what matters to you and what you're striving for. From reading it, a clear theme stands out: you’re seeking personal growth, connection, and meaningful success—both in your relationships and in your endeavors. It’s clear that you don’t just want to “do” things for the sake of doing them; you want your actions to align with becoming the best version of yourself, someone you can love and respect fully.

Here’s a potential life purpose that I’ve drawn from your journal:

"My purpose is to grow continuously as a person—mind, heart, and soul—by striving to be a better husband, a dedicated entrepreneur, and someone who seeks fulfillment through both personal and professional achievements. I will embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and work daily to create a life of purpose, positivity, and authenticity, while inspiring others to do the same."

This purpose ties together your desire for self-improvement, your commitment to your business (which is about more than just making money), and your deep need for stronger, more meaningful connections in your relationships, especially with your wife. It also includes an element of inspiring others, something you’re already doing through your posts and reflections.

How does this resonate with you? Would you like to tweak it or explore other aspects of your life to refine it further?

I said:

This life purpose you have written for me and about me surely hits my heart strings. I do not want to change any of this. Thank you!

ChatGPT said:

I’m really glad it resonates with you! It sounds like a strong foundation for the growth and fulfillment you're seeking. Holding onto that purpose will guide you through those tougher moments and keep you focused on what truly matters.

If you ever need to reflect more or want to dive deeper into any other part of your journey, I’m always here to help. You've got a powerful vision ahead of you, Rick!

Conclusion:

I love what I have, but I know I need to work to truly love who I am—mind, heart, and soul. Dreaming alone won't get me there; action will. Life is too short to sit back and wish things were different. It's time to stand up, face the challenges, and take the steps I need to find the success and fulfillment I want.

Quitting isn’t an option. I’ve spent too long chasing the next big thing, thinking it would solve everything, but the truth is, the solution starts with me. I’m ready to push forward, work hard, and stop doubting myself. Whether it’s in my business or my relationships, I’m committed to becoming the person I know I can be.

I also know that I don’t have to do it alone. Seeking guidance and support is part of the journey, and I’ll actively reach out to those who can help me grow, both within the WA community and beyond. I’m not stopping now—this is my journey, and I’m determined to win.

Yours Truly,

Rick⍢

Coach GPT 👍 gives pretty good advice. And it’s affordable.

Very true Brad.

Wow Rick! Thanks for sharing this. I’m sure there are plenty of us that have these similar thoughts, but are unwilling to share for fear of some type of judgement. Worse part to me is when people offer the cliche responses like, “it’s going to be okay”, “we all go through this from time to time”, or “keep working hard and you will be successful .”

These are all nice sentiments but what we need is actionable steps to move on to the next level. That’s why I was interested in starting a small master-mind group to encourage and help each other be accountable.

I will definitely be sending you a PM.

Steve

Thanks Steve for the good response. it was a challenge to express negative feelings to a large group, but I am wanting to move forward. I am finishing up a follow-up post from the one above. I am setting up some steps for keeping some guidance.

Look forward to the connection.

Rick⍢

Hi Rick
I apologise of any of the following sounds patronising. That's not my intention.
I think you've shown great strength (and more than most of us) in sharing what might be seen by some as vulnerability.

I believe that, Denzil Washington saying "dreams without goals are just dreams," is perhaps a misquote by DW of others. For example, the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (who wrote "The Little Prince") apparently said "a goal without a plan is just a wish".
Later, several other's said similar things including Nelson Mandela who said "a vision without action is just a dream".

Someone else, more to the point said "goals without action are just dreams".

Your are clearly on your way towards taking action towards a better life!

Now, I've been using a 6 step process that I call the GROWTH process since about 1990 when I was working full time as a coach and facilitator.
Here's the most patronising bit - if you want more information, feel free to send me a PM.
;-)
Richard

Action = Achievement

Thanks for reading and responding Richard.

The 1990 got my attention because that was the year I graduated from high school. Time goes by super fast for sure.

Congrats on your achievements and great success.

Rick⍢

My take: Dreams without goals remain just dreams (Denzel Washington)
Abie
