My First WA Blog Post

Greetings, All!

My how time is flying by. Here we are in April and in Dallas we haven't even had winter yet.

I think I joined WA in December, maybe January. My business is slow in the winter months (even though we don't really have a winter season), but no sooner did I sign up with WA and got half way through Certification Course 2 and business picked up. I'm not complaining - I thank God for the work - but I'm really hoping to get my Website going.

Meanwhile I've also been busy studying for my Insurance Adjuster license. I passed the exam with almost flying colors and now have my license. Before my daughter introduced me to WA, I was already leaning toward the insurance adjusting career. My area seems to be flooded (no pun intended - you know, insurance, adjuster, flooded - OK, never mind, it wasn't funny after all) with home inspectors. People buying new homes price shop. They want the lowest price possible, not realizing that in most cases they will get what they pay for.

All that to say, I'm in the process of changing careers. If - oops, not if but WHEN my Website through WA gets going, blogging may be my new career. When I do have free time, though, to write a post, writing does not come easy for me. Why is that? Because during my 20 years as a police sergeant one of my primary duties was writing correspondence for my superiors. Responding to citizen complaints in writing is not the same as texting a friend - not even close.

So somehow I have to rid myself of all the formalities in writing and just write. Perhaps I also need to have more confidence in myself. And perhaps some of you will offer some advice, for which I will be most grateful. I am also certain some of you will provide encouragement, just as my daughter did for me today. I'm sure glad she introduced me to WA and that she is an encourager.

One last thing. Yes, this is my first blog. My apologies to the many of you who have taken time to write and encourage me. I hope to have more time in the future to not only reply to you but also encourage you. I can tell you how busy I am, but we all have 24 hours in each day.

You did well on your first blog!

Thank you!

I think this was a very nice first blog! I don't believe you will have much trouble getting used to writing a "different" style of letter as you go along.

Much success to you.

Blessings,
Debby

Debby,

Thank you for the encouraging words AND the blessings.

Blessings to you, as well,

Rick
