Keeping Up With The Niches

The training, especially Boot Camp, at WA has been phenomenal! My brain is often maxed out with learning the technical side of websites but it has been rewarding, especially for someone not well versed in it, and I know I don't have to be. Writing again has been a joy and I like the "bite-sized" posts and articles that go into building your websites (as opposed to writing a book or stage play), and I'm learning the importance of writing quality content.

I've got a great start in my niche. Now I need to spend time connecting with others in my niche as well. I've spent a lot of time in the past few weeks doing that and beginning to get involved with various forums and websites. I've found it very useful to engage with the folks that are writing about and involved with my niche, in this case, Baby Boomers.

I'm having an incredible journey with my "niche-in-laws" :) I keep a list of them in a notebook beside my laptop and try to make sure I'm reading and commenting on their sites and articles. I don't push my site unless I'm invited to submit it. I'm simply engaging with them at this point. I've even had a few of them add me on Facebook and/or Twitter. These are becoming my business community and have given me a sense of purpose and responsibility to ensure I am providing them with authoritative content.

I find that Street Articles has also opened up other doors and allows me to build substance and be authentic with my website and within my niche. It's been a great way to find my voice, often with humor interspersed.

I actually haven't been on WA as much because of needing to develop this side of my business. But I also feel that much more satisfied when I come back here and spend time...it's like coming home...after visiting with "the niches".
