I Don't Know.Love You.Talk To You Later
It's interesting, once you get into this world of online marketing, how much more attention you pay to things, don't you think?
I used to visit websites for leisure. Have a mooch around, just do my thing really. But now...I feel like a spy, lol. Checking things out and critique-ing to myself.
One thing I have noticed is the ease with which some people use jargon. They talk to the audience in a language that not everyone understands.

I thought I'd write this, just as a reminder to myself and everyone else to remember who our audience is. Remember to talk in their language...without losing our identity. It's pretty pointless using Webmaster lingo if speaking to Joe Bloggs...Likewise, speaking to Joe Bloggs is soon going to put off Mr Webmaster.
I used to use the term "mirror" your audience when I trained new sales staff. I think it can be pretty relevant online as well.
It's less about who we want to be, and more about how we want our audience to see is. Make their experience easy and the rest comes naturally I think.

Agree with your point, We are writing for our audience but not for an examination and it's better to keep things simple as our target audience is huge.
