Google 1 Button Explained: What Happens When You Click It
I completed the Certification Course Level 2 Training Lesson 10 which was all about establishing a Google Plus Account. If you are not familiar with G+ the training is great and just as worthwhile as having the account. It is up there with Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites we use for exposure, followings and advertisement.
I did however run across an article

YouTube Explainer Video (1 minute long)

He explains the +1 button social feature thus: “When you click +1, you’re telling your friends, your family and the rest of the world, ‘this is something you should check out!’”
In that sense, the Google +1 button is similar to Facebook’s “Like” button. But instead of your “Likes” — or in this case, your +1’s — being posted to your Facebook profile, your +1’s are collected in your Google profile and displayed when people within your Google social circle(s) search for something you’ve recommended.
Why +1?
Google hopes that this personal touch to its search formula will help improve its search results. Google is betting that a person will be more likely to try a recipe or read a news article if somebody within her social circle has recommended it. Of course, recommendations from one’s social connections are nothing new (see Facebook and Yelp!).
Google made changes to its search algorithm earlier this year amidst criticism that its searches were yielding spammy and low quality results.
Google has not yet found its foothold within social media, while Facebook and Twitter dominate the space. Google Buzz, initially touted as a Facebook competitor, is now largely considered a failure. In February, reports surfaced that the company tried unsuccessfully to buy Path, a photo sharing social networking site created by Facebook alumni.

When you've been through the WA Certification Course, you can't help but learn to love Google +1
This is true and I hope in the future the Google Plus training takes it one step further (which it doesn't do now) and includes the +1 social share button information.
Point to this +1 is go to the sites you like (preferably one(s) you built) and hit that +1 on your Google Plus Account. It extracts basically the site Meta explanation and an image giving your circle(s) something to share you personally recommended. Enhances your trust as well.
Hopefully this will avalanche your exposure and drive organic traffic to your site.
