Still Trying To Figure Out How Often To Post On Site.

Well today is the 16th of February in the year 2020. I was consistently posting content on my site up until January. I got into a very severe car accident totaling my car on December 31st just in time for 2020. Great. Now without a car, getting to work has become more of a headache.

I ended up having to take a break from my site for about a month. I was dealing with stress and couldn't focus on my blog. Despite this month of no new posts on my blog, I was still averaging 15% organic search traffic. Just this past week, it only just started going down. Finally, I got the energy to write a post. That post ended up getting indexed overnight! That is the quickest I've ever had content on my site get indexed despite my period of no activity. Not only that, my organic search traffic had jumped up 2% in just a day. Now it's sitting at 16% as I write this. I was getting worried that my inactivity would be cause for having to start back from where I started in October 2019. I was pleasantly shocked that this was not the case. Somehow, my site has retained authority with Google for that whole month.

Wondering How Often I Should Post...

This leaves me to the question, how often should I post on my site? What is the perfect balance between being consistent yet spanning content as to keep it quality and worthwhile?Just like many of you, my ultimate goal is to make at least one sale. That would be a great confidence boost that is much-needed. That would give me the drive to keep on chucking away at the keys on my keyboard. It mostly just takes confidence. There are writers out there that do in fact kill keyboards regularly just by writing. I feel if I could in fact accomplish this much as a writer, Google would indeed give my site the authority it needs to make sales.

The Push To Get There:

Now with sales in mind, those that are already incurring sales are the role models for members like me that are still kicking things off. I'm going to try to find the perfect balance between consistent and quality content. By doing so, hopefully I can get that real confidence booster, a sale. That car accident made me realize something. If I had been making my income via affiliate marketing, I wouldn't have had gotten into that wreck. Hopefully someday, I will be able to tell Mr. Bossman goodbye and be my own boss doing something I love. That would be listening to, experimenting, and reviewing audio equipment. I made sure that my niche is something that I'm passionate about. Now I just need to grow this passion into something profitable. I'm thankful to this day that I found Wealthy Affiliate. I feel like a sale is in the near future.

How are you now? 🆗👁‍🗨🌈

I pretty much walked away with a couple scratches. Everything had healed.

You should post as often as you can, Rhett! I hope you're recovering from your accident, and that it is not your car in the picture--if it is, then the Angels were certainly watching over you, my friend!

Jeff

That is my car unfortunately. I walked away with a couple scratches and a strained muscle in my right arm. Everything has already healed. Currently trying to buy another car.

Wow--you were very lucky, my friend!

Get well soon. I hope and pray you will be back in great health!

Sorry to hear of your accident, you're lucky to be alive looking at that wreck!

Regarding blogging, I don't think the perfect balance actually exists.

Just aim for about 10 - 20 hours of work per week. This could be 2 - 4 posts depending on your writing speed.

The rate at which you succeed also depends on your niche. If you're doing the WA Bootcamp, then you must do 4 posts/week to stay ahead of the game.

My new bootcamp blog is 6 1/2 months old with 105 posts (mostly reviews).

Took 3 months to make 1st sale. 2nd came at month #5. And 3rd sale happened at month 6.

So hoping things start to happen after month 7.

Hope this gives you some insights.

Thanks for this helpful information. I'm sure that you'll be getting some more sales during month 7. I will be aiming for at least 10 hours a week. I feel that things will start going based on what my latest post did.

No problem!

Yeah, once you get some momentum going again, things start to pick up :)

I hope you are doing better from your car accident as well. Keep on pushing forward and success will be here soon.
