Disaster, or is it?
This is slightly self indulgent but hopefully also can be a comforting arm around the shoulder of anyone experiencing one of those hurdles Kyle was talking about the other day.
The last couple of days have been a rollercoaster, to say the least. Maybe even a big dipper because I am still at the bottom of a large hole and still looking to make my recovery.
As you can see from the following image, my impressions had been rising steadily over the last few weeks, even accelerating until...... I was shocked to find they went from over 1000/day to 0 (zero)/day in the space of one and a half days! WHAT!!! I couldn't believe it.
So, as you see, it's a hurdle indeed. However, I am liaising with Site Support who have hopefully come up with a solution.
They have identified a potential issue and suggested I resubmit my sitemap to Google Search Console to have the site recrawled.
I am now awaiting the results and will, of course, let you know what happens.
The moral of the story is, yes, feel a bit sorry for yourself but then dust yourself down and get right back on the bike.
I don't know if this will be the solution but I will keep moving forward regardless.
I haven't come this far to only come this far!!!
So, if you are in a similar position and feeling angry and frustrated, I hear you and am with you.
Let me know in the comments if you have experienced similar issues with your websites. We can wallow in despair together!!!! (just joking)
Keep pushing through.
Richard

Keep pushing forward Richard, and hopefully you can find a resolve here. Don't panic and change everything, sometimes these dips can happen out of the blue.
Just curious, did you make any changes the day before that could have led to that big impression drop?
Thank you, Kyle. I will do.
I didn't do anything to the site at all in the few days before this happened.
The only thing I did was back in mid January when I changed all the meta titles and meta headings for the posts and resubmitted my sitemap. That was on 20th January. Apart from that, nothing unusual at all.

That's certainly quite a drop Richard!
Been there and got the Tee-Shirt my friend! Just keep on keeping on and you should recover!! :-)
Thanks for your support, Nick.
I have been doing quite a bit of investigating today with my good friend "GPT" and have discovered it was almost certainly all of my own making. I have been given some really good, basic advice to try to recover in the quickest time possible (without doing any more damage).
Worst case scenario, it could take a few weeks.
Anyway, lesson learned (well this one anyway).
Most welcome Richard and the learning never ends!!
Get it sorted and you'll be fine moving forward my friend! :-)
