Tech question regarding domain dns changes?

I do not have my domain names here, so I can't help you with how they work here, but I can advise on what I would do if the CNAME can't be changed.
I personally have one domain - name where I registered the .com / .net / .fun and .shop
I host my .com on a virtual private server, my .net is a simple landing page for my mailing list, and .shop is my shopify store with .fun being my etsy store.
My .com funnels to all the other sites, it's the one I utilize the majority of my SEO and marketing.
Shopify does not provide much SEO capability, nor does etsy, and a landing page certainly doesn't.
I do things this way because I am a neat freak, love shopify and etsy, do not wish to bog down my site with woocommerce and I detest long URLs.
If you were to register the .shop of your name, and use that for shopify....and host the .com here, then you could do the same without needing to change your CNAME records. Or if you wish the .com to remain on shopify, then you could get the .co (best bet) or .net for your main domain for SEO purposes.
Of course if you can get your CNAME changed, forget all of this I have told you :)
