I've been reading through several discussions across the WA site. I must say, so far I'm loving it. I think I even managed about 40 or so clicks from my affiliate links within the first 24hrs of being here. That's no training, no courses, nada. Just eager to start.

We all are here with a common goal. That goal is success. Let's not forget where we are and why we're here. There's loads of information here. Loads. On top of that, we all have a particular expertise. Why am I bringing this up? I'm bringing it up because I'm seeing the occasional post of doubt. These people need a pep talk.

Lol, I'm here one day and giving a pep talk to those who have been here weeks and months. I can't believe it.

This is a business. In the physical world profit isn't seen for an average of 3-5yrs. I've been around business my whole life. My grandfather owned a deli, my uncle owned a car dealership, I did several MLM's and home-based businesses, was VPO of a business and ran another, and my cousin runs a dealership. I know physical world business, and thanks to a WA member I'm beginning to see similarities between online businesses and offline businesses.

Getting back on point, offline business requires 3-5yrs of blood, sweat, and tears to turn profit. The key is making it that long. If you can't at least break even in bill payments, you're shutdown. It's a done deal. Online business is very similar. The only catch here is the timing. Because it's online, not offline, you have no physical eye candy. You need to market, market, market. How quick or long it takes to turn profit depends on, amongst other things, how much time and effort you put into it.

I don't care if you were WA for one day or one hundred years, how much of that time was spent doing? How much time did you spend on researching, drafting, finalizing your content? How much time was spent fine tuning? And how much time was spent personalizing?

It's true in other models, so why not the online model? You can be given a guaranteed to work skeleton, but that's all it is. A skeleton. You are the meat. You need to add you to the skeleton. Take the model and add your personality. If you try to turn into the model, it won't work. People will feel like they're reading a robot or automated text. Add your personality. Let people see you in the content. If they feel their being spoken to instead of dictated to, they are more likely to convert into a sale.

And most importantly, you have to feel it. If you don't have it in your heart, your prospects will pick up on it. You just can't sell something you don't express enthusiasm for. So do me a favor…no, on second thought, do YOU a favor and don't give up. Before you write another post to your site, go back and re-read your last few. Re-read your pages. Read it as if you were reading someone elses work. Does it draw you on? Are you thinking "ok, I'll give that a shot" after you read over your posts and pages? If not, tweak it. Add you to the story. Make it you.

The more personable and conversational it is, yet informative, the higher chances of landing a conversion. The only way you will fail at this is if YOU give up. So do you a favor and don't give up. This is a business, not a get rich scheme. There's no such thing as overnight riches, unless you win the lottery. Keep at it. All businesses are a lot of hard work in the beginning, but in the end the benefits of your hard work are well worth. Keep at it.

I know I need a domain and premium account. I understand how this works and all about professionalism. However, I'm extremely budgeted and broke at the moment. Zero dollars in my pocket. This time of year is slow for me, which is why I have time to look into other things, such as WA. Since I created my account and shot out affiliate links everywhere, I have been going through the courses.

Granted it looks better with your own setup, I've managed to generate massive traffic to other sites with free accounts (some with domain forwarding because domain mapping is part of an expensive upgrade). I currently own 4 domains for such purpose, 2 to 2 ministry sites, 1 to my personal site, and 1 to my former business I'm in the process of selling. I know professionalism. But it can be done with free services and still come across professional. It took me about a year for my ministries site, 6 months each for my business site and personal site.

How did I do it? Content. I know ministry, I know the answers people are after, and I know the way to serve it up. When I made my personal site, I was already well-known in the community I was targeting through ministry. It turned into traffic. Had I monetized those sites, I probably could have made a pretty penny. The only difference from that and WA, is on those sites I have domains forwarding to the sites and I know my stuff. With WA, I don't have a domain at all and I'm learning my stuff. Where as it would be easier to convert sales with a domain and premium account, I know I could make a few sales without it.

Do I fully intend on becoming Premium? Most definitely. Wish I had the money now. As soon as I can squeeze it, I'm in. Until then, I'm going to learn what I can as Starter. Unless, of course, you know how to grow money trees; in which case I'd gladly plant one and pick some dollars off.

Here's a tip for you: understand the individual. What are the intents and what are the delays. Answer questions that are being asked, not the ones who think you see. If I hadn't already had a wonderful experience here, quite frankly your upsell would have shown me to the door.

I understand this is a community, all kinds of people and personalities. But we're supposed to be helping each other. Kyle owns this and talks to everyone. That's impressive. Others here give informed advice and converse as well. I like that. I don't like constant upsell rhetoric. Don't make assumptions about an individual and what they may or may not know or intend to do. The idea is to be welcoming and give people a reason to want to stay and see this work for them.
