An Observation Regarding WA Blog Posts

It all started early in the day on Halloween 2020… That’s right October 31st, 2020. No, not my journey with WA; that is now just past the 5-month anniversary date, so I’m in my 6th month.

What all started today was me noticing something about the WA blogs that I was reading. I was mostly in catch-up mode having both endured and enjoyed a heavier-than-usual work scheduled over the past 5 weeks or so. Actually, my COVID-19 (coronavirus) layoff from my part-time work as a Licensed Driving School Instructor came to an end in August and returning to having some additional income was welcomed (and needed).

Many of the email alerts I get telling me about a fellow WAer liking or commenting on one of my blogs are from people whose blog posts I have seen and, because I liked what I was reading, chose to ‘Follow’ them.

Some of those who I follow are, like me, still cutting their teeth and in their first year, but what I noticed was not who comments on my posts but who was commenting on other people’s posts.

Right-clicking on every name in the string of comments on one post, identified ‘Top 200’, ‘Top 100’ and even ‘Top 50’ and ‘Top 20’ WA team members. There were also a couple of comments from others, like me, ranking in the thousands. Actually, I'm at 13,337 as of this writing, which is not the lowest (or is it highest?) ranking that I’ve reached; but I've not yet reached 12,000. As I said, I have had a busy month and so have gotten behind with my website, especially new content building, as well as reviewing WA blog posts.

A landmark goal on the ‘WA Ranking’ metric for me would be to get to being ranked below 12,000 and then 10,000, and then to shoot for 5,000, and then 1,000, 500, 200 and so on – but I’m sure those are all somewhere way into the future – but hopefully will prove to be somewhere in the future.

So, now I have a new goal or set of goals.

But here’s my question: Does ranking also indicate income being achieved? Hhmm…?

That, I guess, is the $50,000 question…

No, not at all, Ron! It only indicates participation within the WA community!

Jeff

Totally agree Jeff!

Thanks, Glynn!

No, ranking judges community involvement like answering questions, your blogs to the community as to how active you are, creation etc. If you click on the rank button you will see your breakdown. John

Click on the rank button... OK, now I've got it. So the 'Rank Button' is actually 'click on your rank number' in your profile. Yes, something I had not discovered. Thanks, now I have all the data about it that I need...
(I think we need a 'Thumbs Up" emoji...)

Excellent and glad to help. Yes, the W.A. site has all kinds of hidden buttons.

👍

Hi, no not at all. Ranking inside the Wealthy Affiliate platform doesn't have anything to do with the income earned from members...

The ranking is based on who helps the most here at WA.

Hi Revansca; your $50,000.00 question will be answered when you are ranked on Google first page.
Best of luck

I think we need a 'Thumbs Up" emoji...

Hi Ron, that is a good question and I would be interested to see the answers you get. From my point of view I would say ranking has no correlation to income, Alan.

Plenty of responses below. Check out Jonathan Aitken's response (and my response to Jonathan's response).
