Looking for portable gaming rig LaptopNotebook ?

Basically, I'd just throw whatever I know based on my experiences with laptops. And as far as I have gone with, the most reliable brand for Laptop, especially when you are looking for a gaming rig, would be ASUS or Lenovo. If you are low on budget, consider taking time to look for i3 processor instead of i5 or even i7. MSI is a good choice also. These three brands are low-maintenance, sometimes don't even have to maintain at all. Fine for many years. My Lenovo S410p has served me since 2013 until now. That also I bought an used one.

The most important things to keep in mind, is that you have to make sure that the laptop comes with external/dedicated graphics and not just an Intel/AMD onboard chip, as well as RAM. Make sure your laptop's RAM can be increased/upgraded should the games you would play require higher memory/RAM. Always ask the shop attendant whether the RAM in the notebook is soldered or contains slots. I once had a friend buying his laptop at only USD400 with strong and powerful graphics, only to find out that his RAM could not be upgraded/modified. Get at least 4GB or 6GB even better. Even if you have a dedicated graphics to run your games, believe me. 85% the games wouldn't perform as you expect.

Well if budget is not a problem, go for ASUS ROG Series, or Alienware, or Razor. If you really want to save cost. Find a laptop with this criteria:

1. it has at least Pentium Dual-Core, or Core 2 Duo, or an i3 to be better.

2. It has 4GB RAM. This is a MINIMUM.

3. Find a laptop with no OS (FreeDOS) - You need to install the OS (Windows 7/8/10) by yourself. Ask an experienced technician/your friend to assist doing so.

4. If you only need to run some moderate games eg. Dota 2, CSGO, HoN, some moderate MMORPG, actually you don't really have to get a dedicated graphics. The onboard graphics would be good enough (I had a friend with Core 2 Duo which is a very old laptop and runs Dota 2 perfectly fine. Mind the graphics though. Gameplay was smooth)

Things to remind:

1. I suggest not to get HP laptop. I had quite the bad experience on this brand.

2. Never use/operate your laptop on pillow (prevent overheating)

3. Best get a affordable notebook cooler.
