Sharing Buttons Plugin

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I have a plugin question. I never know whether to put the share buttons at the top or bottom of my site. I usually opt for the bottom so they don't mess with the overall look of the page.

I use Tweet and Like By Kurt Polinar on a couple of sites and just realized that when it's at the bottom and you try to 'Like' it, the window that pops up is cut off so you can't see the Add Comment button in the FB window to click on and send your comment along with the Like to Facebook.

Is there any way to add a buffer under the line of share buttons so the whole window would show? Or is there a way to add this plugin into a widget to put them in the sidebar?

Thanks for any help. I want to be able to DIY this so need to learn how to do this rather than have someone do it for me so if anyone could actually show me the steps, I would be very grateful.

Stay cool!

Hi All, You can set up share and follow links on your site, like I have on mine at http://www.thehelpfulinternetmarketer.com for free by going to addthis.com - create yourself a free account. Select Smart layers from the top navigation bar. Choose whether you want to add follow buttons or not, then grab the code that Add This generates for you. Add a Text widget to your Main Widget Area (Found under Appearance in your dashboard) and paste the HTML code into the main text area. You can leave the title box blank. Refresh your page and you should see the follow/share buttons now on the left hand side of the screen, which stay there as you scroll - Hope this helps. How do I put the sociable buttons on top of my pages? it only appears at the bottom. Or is it just that way with the tesla theme?

might just be a tesla theme thing. Check the theme settings and there might be an option to shut off social sharing icons on the blog options. then you could always install a plugin that allows you to put them above, below, or both. These are good one:

Shareaholic – Sexy Bookmarks
*ShareThis
AddToAny

Thanks WSF. I'm going to try this.

Shareaholic works just perfect thank you again. Awesome!

No idea Renni, but am curious to find out the answer!

Stay tuned, Shawn :)

Hi Renni. I can't help you, but I noticed yesterday that Apina is a WP expert and has built some plugins, so I bet he could point you in the right direction if you give him a shout.

Yeah...I know...but I bug him all the time and wanted to just throw this one out to everyone in case someone else could help. He has to be overwhelmed by all our questions and I'm sure he has enough of his own stuff to do :)

Thanks for the comment, Kapp!
