When you are creating a website for someone, when you publish your posts do you use your name as the author? or keep admin? or what?

You might want to ask your brother first, friend. When in doubt, use admin as a general rule of thumb. All the best!

Hi

I'd ask my client what author name they want to use.

Hope this helps.

Well it's my brother, and I offered to create him a website for a business he wants to start of his own, so he doesn't really know a lot about it.

Ask your brother what name he wants to use or create one for him, you can use admin, or edit under users tab, WordPress sites back office or create a new user with a different email address and give them the correct privileges.

.

Okay so even though, I am the author of this page, and the Creator, I use his name? Am I understanding correctly? & I know how to create new users, I just don't know if I use my name or his for the author of the page?

I know this isn't my conversation but if I could chime in and say why don't you just use both your names like a father and son thing when they both play an important part in the business not sure of your brothers name but as for my ex im going to use Tim&Alley; or just you last name if you happen to have the same last name like The Smith's or The Reeds :) hope this helps

Why am I not given the option under posts to change the "admin" name? I watched the video how kyle does it, but mine doesnt look like his does? I am not given the option?

Hi

I go to Users tab WordPress sites back office and where it says name input what I like , then choose what name and update changes. See images.

Hope this helps.

Or create a new user Hope this helps.

You have a few options.
1) Go into Wordpress backoffice scroll down to Users
then add a new user. Choose a name (first name is fine) Then assign admin roll and a different email than "admin". Then use new user name when creating posts.

Or
Manually change the default admin username in WordPress
Add new user. Log into your Dashboard. ...
Save new user. Fill in all required information. ...
Log out of admin account. Hover to the top right of the page to log out.
Log in with new user account
Delete the default admin
Confirm the deletion.

Hi Reedsm38
I just did this training. Go to Users - add new
and fill out the form.
username can be just your first name
Email needs to be different than the one you used to sign up with WA. For ROLE select Administrator
then click on Add new user.
then when you go up to Post - quick edit- down to author
when you click on it, you should see in the list your name

Hope this helps.
Cindy

When you choose a domain name and transfer your website over to that you will be able to change admin to your name. You can buy a domain name here in WA it's very cheap.

Lily

This is not possible if you are using a .siterubix domain
