"Do. Or do not. There is no try." – Yoda – The Empire Strikes Back

Awhile back, I left WA. After being a member for over a year, my site was getting daily visitors, but the money was not flowing in as I had imagined, so I let it all go. I thought I could find another way to bring in that income that would make our lives so much easier. Oh, we can say that we'd be happy with anything we make extra. But I'll be honest...if a windfall of money suddenly started flowing into my bank account, I would not be complaining! Would you?

So I let my site go along with my WA membership. I didn't bother to back up any files because I was not going to worry about posting to my site or finding new content, etc. I just let it all drift into space.......

And here's what happened:

I missed it. Plain and simple.

What has this got to do with Star Wars?

My husband is an avid Star Wars fan - I think he went to see the original film over 20 times. Of course, we own all of the six episodes on DVD. He knows all of the folklore that surrounds the story, the back stories of all the characters, how the movies were made, how much it all cost, etc. etc. etc. In other words, a TSWG (that's True Star Wars Geek)! He wears his geekiness with pride!

So when they released the new movie, "The Force Awakens", of course we saw it on opening night. It was marked on our calendar for months as "STAR WARS!!!!" day. (I have to admit, I was looking forward to it, too.)

Now, what I was thinking is, "These fans of this story waited 30 years to see their beloved characters come to life again." That's 30 years of waiting to see IF the story would continue or just fade off.....and they didn't just give up. If they had, the story and characters would have died off a long, long time ago (Star Wars humor, get it?) and no successful continuing story would have been possible!

So I got to thinking....

If I had no web site, there was NO chance of making ANY money online. Furthermore, I had given up my creative outlet. There is just something inside (once you start blogging and you have followers) that wants to tell people about all of the neat stuff you learned, or made, what works, and what didn't. I realized how much I really had learned from WA and it was all going to waste!

Then, Kyle and Carson made me an offer I couldn't refuse! I know that I still face the same challenges of finding enough time and energy (I still work that full time job as a nursing home cook and baker, and I'm not getting any younger) as I did when I first started WA.

I also know that I was afraid to navigate the internet without the knowledge at my fingertips here at WA. If I am ever truly going to be successful, I need to be able to ask questions from people who have already achieved success. I believe there is no better place to learn internet affiliate marketing than here.

So as Yoda said, "Do. Or do not. There is no try."

.....with THE FORCE of Wealthy Affiliate, how can I fail?

Welcome back. I'll admit that I've been tempted to walk away from WA and just forget about my website. After all, I still haven't made any money yet from it, but I am putting in the time more consistently, but I always have this voice in the back of my mind saying that I'll regret if I quit WA because I'll wonder if I had done this or that or been more patient would I have started seeing the money start coming in. I'm going to continue to keep trying no matter what until I reach my goals no matter how long it takes. I wish you much success in your return journey to WA :)

Yea, I know what you mean. It's like playing a slot machine - you knowthat if you put in enough money, you WILL eventually win. The question is, will it pay out before you run out of money?
I know that if I put in the time and effort, and keep trying things, eventually I'll find what works.

This is very inspirational. Personally I am not a big fan of Star Wars but I do like the messages that one can take from the movies. I like Yoda. Interesting to know what was the offer that Kyle and Carson made you? And by the way, super happy you have come back. :)

Thank you! The offer was for $10 for the first month's membership. Kyle and Carson took an email survey of people who have dropped out to ask what they could do to get us to return. They made changes based in WA on all the replies. I was impressed with this, and had been thinking about returning anyway. Their offer cinched it.

Very cool! Paying it forward right?
