What Pinterest isn't telling you...
I was doing some social media marketing research and came across some information I thought was worth sharing. The most interesting fact that I wasn't aware of is that Pinterest is using SkimLinks. If you are unfamiliar with SkimLinks, it's a software that looks at links users post to websites, determines if there is an affiliate program to which they can be linked, and appends a code that ensures Pinterest gets credit for (and data from) the referral. I wasn't aware of this and although Pinterest claims not to be using it any longer, it is worth knowing this about Pinterest. Any thoughts on how to avoid this without avoiding Pinterest?
