I just joined but I haven't got to look around much,but the question I have is,what am I supposed to be selling or promoting

Hi Rob, not a silly question at all, many folks arrive here in WA not really understanding the processes involved with online marketing.
What the deal is all about is learning how to create a vehicle ( website ) to be able to present your products/ services to the world.
What you are going to sell or promote is entirely up to you.
I would suggest that you have a good look around the platform, ask questions, look at the training that is available etc.
A good place to start the journey is here. Getting Rolling! We are here to learn and the process is step by step.
It is one of those cases where the best possible action is to follow along and trust the process.
You will find that there is plenty of support here in the community, a good thing could be to fill out your profile, it gives folks an understanding about your online goals and aspirations and makes it easier for people to help you, should you need it.
I know some of how to create a website,do I need to buy my own website or does WA supply you one if you go to premium

As a starter member, you get access to the first levels of the main training here in Wealthy Affiliate.
- Online Entrepreneur Certification - Getting Started Level 1 Teaches you how to create a website that primarily promotes niche related products and or services.
- WA Affiliate Bootcamp - Getting Your Business Rolling which teaches you how to create a website that primarily promotes Wealthy Affiliate.
As a starter member, you can create two websites fully functional and hosted.
This is included in the starter package, so in real terms, you can take everything for a test drive.
All the resources that you need to create an online business presence are available right here inside of WA.
If you decide to go premium it expands the range of training and resources that are available.
In the case of hosted websites that extends out to 50 ( 25 on domains that you own and 25 on the Site Rubix Subdomain platform.
It can be a little overwhelming when you first arrive, follow the training and you will see everything fall into place.
Basically, WA is a one-stop shop.
I tried alot of programs and I would love for one to work,so I guess I've just been burnt alot
Many folks have been burnt by those over promise and under delivering programs, the major thing is that to succeed we need a fundamental understanding and the resources to create an online presence we get all that and more here in WA.

Your goals are not dissimilar to many folks that are here in WA, there is a lot of support together we are strong.

It's advisable to purchase your own domain ($14 per domain / per year). But it comes with free hosting for 25 own websites and 25 sub domain website for premium member. All websites are installed with free SSL cert.
