I managed to work out how to get one post to appear on two different pages AND I am very happy. Maybe I lucked out and picked a theme that supported it but it works the way I want it to despite Google Wordpress people telling me it wasn't possible.Long story short - it had to do with assigning categories and then customising the menu.
