Reboot

It feels like every so often I find myself back here wondering what direction to take my WA experience. Business picking up at work combined with planning a wedding has helped contribute to inactivity here. But I'm going back to the beginning and starting training from scratch in the hopes of eventually getting my new idea off the ground. I already write for two fantasy football websites and that's an extremely saturated market, so I think it's best to shift focus.

As a lifelong pro wrestling fan and currently inactive independent pro wrestler, doing something in the pro wrestling niche always seemed to make sense. My current idea is likely to start out as a blog supplemented by video content. The focus of the blog/site is going to be pro wrestling rivalries and the matches that helped these rivalries go down in history. The video content, if I can figure out how to pull it off, will be video game recreations or simulations of the specific matches being talked about. Capturing real life match footage off of my computer and using a GIF tool to loop certain spots being discussed in each match was an idea, but I'm not trying to get myself in any legal trouble by using copyrighted footage. Doing it via the WWE 2K video game series will also allow me to also start a side project of creating a Youtube channel and earning additional income through it.

As far as knowing my audience and knowing what problem it is that I need to be solving, my target audience is going to be wrestling fans. Which seems like a broad niche, but one I can likely get away with given the number of wrestlers that work for more than one promotion. Although limiting my focus to something like WWE rivalries or New Japan Pro Wrestling rivalries may make things easier, even if I don't plan on venturing too far outside of those particular wrestling umbrellas. I just think that focusing on rivalries across all of wrestling will allow me to be able to do more with the video creation portion of the site, which has also been a passion of mine for years.

I guess if there's a problem that I'm going to be solving, it's that there currently aren't any websites (at least that I've found) that act as a centralized hub for being able to research or read about pro wrestling's monumental rivalries. At least nothing that supplies written content or content supplemented by video. I've already begun brainstorming ideas for pages I can include and things I can eventually do to grow the site and the community I hope to start with it. But right now I just need to focus on getting the idea off the ground and tweaking it where necessary.

Pro wrestling is very subjective, and my background in the sport should help me come up with content. But I need to be sure it's the right content, and content that can be profitable. Any feedback would be much appreciated as I look to reboot and finally start earning some $$$.

I'm not sure how you're going to monetize this, but I wish you luck.

I mean I don't have anything that I'm specifically selling anyone. But I'm thinking I could have some success through affiliate marketing with wrestling websites, advertising and whatever monetization I can get out of the Youtube portion of it.
