How do we contend with the routines and obligations of the world today?
First time in 24 years I have been called for Jury Service and I thought "Why not, let's go!!.
The first day was a drag and so many people and I was one of the ones that rolled in late. Air conditioning was non-existent, I was standing and most of all hungry, hot and bothered.
To myself I made a conscious decision to be vibrating at a higher level of love and no matter who I smiled at and spoke to I would tell them "Thank you for blessing me today with your presences". I met 3 great uber drivers, a train officer while checking our AT HOP cards and the train conductor, a kid whose violin case hit my leg while he was playing PUBG, a lady who bought a coffee at the same time as me and we both took the same train, the lady who made our coffees, the security guards at the Auckland District Court House, Justice of the peace x2, the clerk at the desk for Jury service and about 3 west Aucklanders and about 5 other people that I thought why not shine today.
Day 2 is slightly different one of them saved me a seat as I walked in late and we were all prepared with food for lunches so we do not have to spend money else where. At least we get free hot drinks and free WiFi (keeps buffing so you get what you get). But I have now formed friendships that I would not have made had I not attended and just decided to trust my instincts to vibrate at a level of love.
With that all going on, dishes at home have been neglected (just did those tonight), laundry needed attention (did that this morning at the laundromat at 6am) and unable to keep my house at the standard I expect. Now how do we generally maintain all these ourselves or is there an expectation? I expected all this to be done when I was not in my normal routine or was I supposed to tell my family "Right B1 you got this, .... B2 you this..... And B3 ..you complete this.
It's biblical to say you can not have 2 masters but what if you can master the art of balance??? What does that look like and what does that entail? So as of tomorrow I will put myself first with yoga, meditation and exercise to wake up, sort my house out, get ready and get going or do I sleep in for a little and then just waltz out the door??
I for one can not tell you what balance looks like but from experience I know that I either need to delegate more or get a full time maid. However, hubby would look strange with a short black dress and apron.
Even though I am curious as to who takes care of business from ground level at home, what other amazing ideas are there to engage all family members to do their bit? My children know now that they can get a reward or have it withheld? I'm fortunate I can take the cord to the PlayStation away or the rashuns chips from the lunch box. But on the flip side if I do the housework then I will get myself a full body massage, manicure, pedicure and bubbles, I say fairs fair and for some of you out there be like "It is what it is". But my son taught me that if we do it together we have more fun and we did. That takes the cake for me cos he realizes how much I did do and he is only 8.
This might have digressed but today we are busier than ever and expectations of home I feel are the most important, give or take on your crazy life. Why is it expected that only a few members do more than their share and having all these things in our lives should never dictate what our home life or how we run our families. I say personally home base needs to be taken care of first and then whatever else fits so long as your faith, family and friends are priority then it should resonate effortlessly and be nothing but love that shines.
So my friends emanate love, passionate and smile through every step of your day. I appreciate you all and can not wait to see the excitement of this community grow ten fold.
