My biggest dilemma!
My biggest dilemma over the past 1 1/2 years is how to find my niche, niche down they say. What is your passion they say? But your passion is to broad they say. I have searched and have been searching for my passion, my niche. I haven't had a hobby of my own until recently. The reason I chose the above photo to represent how I have been feeling is because it, I believe represents how I have been feeling.
Kind of lost and not really getting what or how to find my niche. Today I am devoting to find that niche. I am searching the net and YouTube to find out how to find my niche.
My husband and I dedicate so much of our time to our family that when someone asks what our passion is neither of us know, except for our family.
Now for me individually, my hobby that I found is Acrylic Pouring, I love it so much! It is so satisfying. The next thing that I enjoy doing is playing games on my phone, I enjoy baking as well. But what I spend most of my time doing is researching how to make money online so I can be a help to my husband.
You see, I home school, I do my husbands books for his business, I do my housework, I do YouTube videos which I am also stuck and am not growing because I haven't found my niche for that either. I have a chronic illness that the Drs haven't found a name for, so I am trying on my own to find a way to not have as many episodes.
Sometimes I feel like such a failure, because I try and try and nothing seems to work! BUT... I am not a quitter. I will not give up! I know I can do this, but asking for help is an area that I have a hard time in. I always think I can do it on my own. But that is the wrong way to look at things. God has given us each different talents, and he has put us all on this planet not to be alone, but to help each other.
So, at the place in my life right now, how can I help others? What are the keywords that I need to look for? What is my niche?
I am trying to write to get the juices flowing, and hey, if anyone can help me, I definitely won't be upset to receive a tip or more.

Hi, Kathleen! I agree with you, finding a niche can leave you pulling your hair out. I hope I can give you a little help.
You said that you homeschool... kids? (I'm assuming.. I don't like to do that) If so, there are sooo many people out there that are ripping their hair out because they have no idea how to do that, and they have no choice but to do so. Not sure about monetizing that one, but you could definitely make that a niche (breaking it down to age, etc.), and you will be helping so many people.
If you can do bookkeeping, there is also a niche for that.
As for the YouTube videos, I haven't a clue, sorry about that.
I've never heard of acrylic pouring, but it definitely sounds like you truly love doing it. People love to learn with others (like at the same skill level), as well as being taught. Maybe a site teaching that, as well as a few 'learn with me' pages, would be a good idea. It can be easily monetized, as you can just suggest to your audience the things that you are using.
I'm sorry if I made that more confusing, I just tried to help you t find what you'd be most comfortable doing. Personally, I would go with the Acrylic pouring - you can write and do videos, and so much more.
NEVER EVER feel like a failure! It seems like you're going through an awful lot right now. And I'm sorry about your illness, sometimes doctors frustrate me so badly :(
You're in the right place. Using Jaaxy can help as well. I have never been very good at asking for help, either. But feel free to do so in here. Not once have I ever been made to feel weird about asking for help, (and some of my questions can be doozies!)

Hey thanks Haze! I appreciate it, I guess that's kind of what I have realized.
I needed that confirmation that you many have many things that you enjoy, but choosing one that I will enjoy long term, and knowing that later I can start another niche helps.
I appreciate your input and your taking the time to break things down for me. It does help and is not overwhelming at all. I think that is what I was looking for to help me out. Sometimes I may know but just having a confirmation that I'm on the right track is what I needed.

By reaching out to the community you've taken the first step to changing your situation and I would like to applaud you. Each of us at one point or another have been in your spot where we have self doubt and felt lost. But that doesn't mean you're a failure. It just means that you haven't found what it is you're looking for. So please don't beat yourself up. I would start by going through the training and it will give you some sense of clarity on niche selection. Based on your story, you have so much to offer. I would like to echo an important message by my friend Hugh. You must work on changing your mindset and believe that you are destine for greatness. Welcome to WA you have so much to offer to so many. There will be a niche out there that is right for you. Follow the training, trust the process.sometimes we can look too hard. Mine came to me when I wasnt thinking about what to choose.

I have to agree with Donnie. The training will guide you through these niche selecting challenges that you are facing. Follow it at your pace. Above all else you are not a failure. Change that mindset NOW! Believe that you are destined for greatness. Vision it and you will get there.

Hi Kathleen, maybe you are just overwhelmed. That happens to all of us. Finding a niche is not that hard, when you follow through the training here at WA. The harder part may be to stick with it, especially when you have many interests and skills like you do. Choose the one that you love to talk and write about. That will make it easy to create content. And you will connect with people who share the same passion.
Asking for help is something I had to learn, too. But asking for help, whenever you get stuck, like you did with this post, leads to getting unstuck, being able to move forward, staying motivated and having success.

Thank you Shaquinho, ya that is the hard part is choosing one that I will enjoy in the long run and that I would be able to Monetize. I am at my middle age finally learning to ask for help. It's taken awhile to learn.
We are in the same boat here. I'm in my 40s now. I still have to remind myself, that I'll have a better, easier time, when I ask for help, instead of trying to figure out everything on my own.
We all have strengths and weaknesses. The beauty of a community like the one you found here, is that we can complement each others strengths and be more successful together:-)
