Hi WA Family,
I hope y'all are staying safe this holiday.
I just notice this red dot when I click on my profile and have no clue what it means.
I have this as well
The dot wasn't there yesterday, then I saw it this morning, checked my profile, no new message. Then, later on, I had a new message and the dot showed the number 1 within it. After responding to it, the red dot still appears but with no number.
Guessing it's a new bug :-)
Hi Chrystopher
I just noticed now the red dot came back up but there was no profile message.
I saw I had 1 notification and as usual, it still takes ages to load up
.
Once they came up I saw your comment above opened it and checked again the red dot had disappeared once more.
So I feel it may come up regularly when you get a notification but the issue is it is not a profile message but the notification message it seems to relate to which are really two different things.
just an observation I noticed it also did the same thing yesterday in the same way.
Hi Chrystopher,
I'm guessing it's a glitch or some new feature we're not aware of but it's definitely creating some curiosity. π
hey hi Hon!
"big red dot?! .... hey it means there's a big red dot SAle ON! ... lol ...
just kidding! ... needed to give myself a wee chuckle to deflect my 'owlie day' here ...
Super question and all questions are considered good ones here..
normally, it would signify that you've got a new message on your profile page perhaps ... and it looks like Jeff has got that for ya! ...
otherwise, it just might be another 'quirk or quark' on the new platform ...
enjoy a wonderful holiday season ahead, cheerio .... πππ
...
*** indeed, you're most welcome! ... may you and your family receive the best of blessings and lots of gifts from Santa! ...

That red dot means you have a message on your profile, say, someone commented as they choose to follow you.
Cluck on the red dot, and a highlighted comment will appear.
Rudy
Thanks, Rudy! Didn't see any comment or follow. It's a mystery!!! I'm sure it will sort itself out. As long as I'm still able to access my account I'm good. LOL
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
-Hon
I might be wrong but I think it means you have selected dark/ night viewing profile on your viewing.. ? So its telling you that..Maybe ? I stand to be corrected though... it could be Santa...
Thanks, Phil, I am running on dark mode but have been for a while now without any red dot. Could be a glitch and if it was Santa where's my present?! I've been a good boy! π

Does anyone know what this big red dot is under my profile?
Hi WA Family,
I hope y'all are staying safe this holiday.
I just notice this red dot when I click on my profile and have no clue what it means.
I think I have the answer now friend. I had two windows of WA open and I saw the red dot. When I click on my profile to see it, there was nothing there to see. Or so I thought. But if you look at the "new to the community" area and click on them to follow, it goes away. I test this out over and over to see what it was. It was for any notification. The "new to the community" is sort a notification. To be sure can you test it out to see if it goes away on your end by clicking follow on the "new to the community area?" For this to work you shouldn't see any more people to follow. Let me know if the red dot goes away after doing that, including all other notifications. Thanks. All the best!
Hey John,
Thank you for looking into this. I didn't realize this was going to be a wild goose chase! LOL.
I will give it a try and see what happens. Stay Tuned!
Cheers!

I clicked followed someone in the "new to the community" went back to check on the profile and the red dot is gone.
But when I open up another screen and check my profile it came back and there are still notifications of new members to follow.
I'm guessing it's some sort of notification. But what it is I have not a clue. LOL
So far it's working for me friend. I am leaning towards the "new to the community" area. Once you followed everyone and it's not showing more people to follow, it'll go away. Sometimes, the red dot will show up multiple times, that means there's more people to follow. Also, the red dot with numbers tells me how many have left comments on my profile. So to conclude, the mysterious "solid red dot" is for new people to follow as I have examined it over and over. Thanks for letting me know. All the best!

Hi Wa Family,
Jaxxy's Siterank showed one of my article as being rank #1 on the first Google but it doesn't appear on Google when I performed a query.
Could it b
Hi Hon, hope all is well. It also depends on the country and if you use a VPN you might get different results.
A couple other keyword tools I use break down Google rankings by country. Most of my traffic is from the US so I mostly focus on US rankings but I do notice significant differences depending on the keyword where I'll rank on page one in one country but might not even make it on the map in another. It's usually just the Google dance... a few days or week later my page may show up but they do jump around.
And speaking of the Google dance, it's extremely common for newer sites to have their rankings bounce around significantly. You can be on page one today and page four tomorrow, then back on page one the day after.
As your site ages and matures things kind of settle down. The algorithm figures your site out and has a better idea of where it thinks you should rank (which usually isn't where we think we should rank, lol).
Hey Jay,
Great to hear from you and I hope you and your family are doing well.
Thank you for your insight, I wasn't aware that ranking happens by country. The only keyword tool I'm using currently is Jaxxy.
I'm not using a VPN and I'm aware of the Google dance. Guess I'll just need to be a little more patient.
I was also getting an error message "Submitted URL No Index" so that might have caused some issues. Resubmitted my sitemap so we'll see if the issue gets resolved.
By the way, I sent you a PM hopefully you got it.
Anyhow, thanks again, and Happy Holidays!
Cheers!

Hi Hon, so sorry I missed your PM. I'm not sure how that happened, my apologies. Hope you and your family are doing well too, and of course staying safe.
Are you still getting the Search Console error message?
Hey Jay,
Thanks for replying. The last error message I got was dated 12/14 so I think we might be good but I will keep an eye on it.
Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Stay safe!
-Hon
Happy Holidays to you and your family as well :-)
Keep me posted if the error shows up again. There's always a lag with Search Console that depends on the last time Google crawled your site. I'll often fix an error and even a week later or more I'll check it and it's still showing as an error. Or, the error might show in Search Console but the page is ranking well and getting good traffic anyway.
Having said that, it's important to monitor because sometimes you may have a page mistakenly set to 'nofollow' or 'noindex' and that's why it's not showing up in the search engines.
Keep in touch Hon and hope your weekend is a great one :-)
Jay
Thanks Jeff,
I was getting "Submitted URL No Index" in Google Search Console so I resubmitted my sitemap. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks.
Cheers,
-Hon
If you put the exact title into Jaxxy then it can come up on page one of google. But when you go to Google it is not there because it is not what is most commonly asked by google searchers. Hope that makes sense to you.
Thanks for your reply Lisa. I have another post that ranks 4 on page 1. It shows that in Jaxxy and also in Google so I'm a little confused about the results as I'm applying the same search criteria.
Google tailors rankings for each person. Usually people have the opposite problem of their website ranking higher for them than it does for other people. Iβve never heard of people having this type of issue.
I totally agree with you. Perhaps I'm an anomaly. But check out the attached screen capture. So I don't know what's going π€·ββοΈ LOL.
