The other day I was reading some statuses from my Facebook, and saw this quote by Annonomis (spelling) anyways the quote was:

Knowledge Speaks and Wisdom listens

This to me in 4 words sums up how learning is a give and take of building both. Yes listening to the advice of those who have done their listening is good, but we also need to be able to convey what we know to be true to those that are willing and ready to listen.
