Am I Being Scammed?
Am I Being Scammed?
I remember that day like it was yesterday.
It was a deary overcast day that August 2009 Saturday, threatening to rain all day.
When I woke up that morning and stepped out of bed I banged my pinky toe on the corner of the baseboard, wow that hurt! I should have known then what kind of day I was in for.
As the day wore on, that evening I heard the pitter-patter of rain hitting the window as I sat alone in the house at the dinner table. In the stillness of the room I could smell the rain as the sweet scent came squeezing through the crack of the door that summer night.
Logging on to the internet, trying to occupy my boredom after dinner is all I could think of doing - so I booted up my computer and began to check my email. As I clicked through my list one at a time I noticed a suspicious one that...
craaaAAAK BOOMMMMMM!
"Holy Smokes" I cried out, as the crack of thunder practically shattered the windows in the house.
With my heart pounding in my throat, I should have picked up on what was happening right then.
Maybe, quite truly I think, I was probably being warned to leave that email alone and go check our chimney or roof or something... as that loud crack went rumbling from one side of the roof to the other across the blackish green sky.
But as I caught my breath I continued and opened that suspicious email.
I don't even remember what the dumb thing said but because I was discontent with my present financial situation and over the last few months looking for a get rich quick opportunity (that's ALL of our problem) I was mesmerized by what was being offered.
Well, the rest is history my friend. I signed up for something I knew I shouldn't and BAM! $2500.00 gone just like that.
Am I Being Scammed?
I KNEW I been scammed! Well, actually I really didn't think I was scammed until about two weeks later when I couldn't get a hold of the guy and my nephew who actually sent me the stupid email told me he believed he got scammed too but not for 2500 smacks like I did. He only went for the lowest offer, but sure good old uncle had to show him up and grab the whole deal.
That is one sure sign to leave any so called internet marketing promise alone if they don't have the proper contact information. Honestly I don't even remeber the details of any of it and I probably try to put it out of my mind.
I really didn't want to believe it and still shake my head at myself every time I think about it. But even after this stupidity I'll tell you another short story of what I did AGAIN in a bit.
I was trying my hand at a couple different internet marketing programs all along but with no real luck. Actually I was making a minuet amount of money from the internet but nothing close to what was promised.
Another lesson that I learned, as embarrassing as it is for me to admit it, is to not buy anything from email spam no matter how desperate you are.
So, how about you?
Have you ever been scammed online, over the phone, on the street or anywhere else?
If it's not too embarrassing for you, let us know a little bit about the details below in the comments. to help others strear clear of these vultures
It will really be helpful to others that stop by and may help prevent someone else saying "I think I've been scammed" and from losing a lot of moola like me.
Oh ya, and guess what?
I not only was scammed once but many small times on stupid so called get rich quick schemes.
AND...
AGAIN about three or 4 years ago I fell hook line and sinker for another Phone scam. Now maybe, just maybe that one could have produced a little something but the whole program was so complicated and you had to check in to phone meetings weekly and I just got sick of all the many many steps to even just get set up. BOOM! another 2 grand down the tubes.
Wow was I stupid! Ok I know that is an understatement!
Well...
That's why I LOVE the WA community and the simplicity of the training here.

I have to be honest I really thought WA was a scam!! A friend of mine signed up for a different affiliate training company, which was charging $200 a month and then within 2 weeks he took a loan out for £2000.00 to invest into their top level.
I was really interested, but even before my friend invested more money, my gut feeling was not good. As soon as I looked into it I found out that with this company, they upsell pretty much immediately, with promises of greater riches if you come in at the top level.
I immediately thought WA was too good to be true and that within 2 days someone would be emailing me to say I needed to pay some lump sum to get the best training. That email has never come, and I continue to be very impressed by what I get for my money.
I am so pleased that I chose WA. I am so impressed not only by the training, but the websites and hosting and the wonderful network!

Thanks for sharing Sara. It is true...at least in my situation that when you are financially burdened and want to so badly to be out of your situation, you feel desperate and you THINK that what ever comes along is your ticket out.
But be assured...even though there are people making an online income from other things the affiliate marketing model taught here is a sustainable long term business that takes time and dedication to repetitious daily work.
If I have fallen for anything lately this is what I have fallen for.

Scamming is a big problem. It's hard to find scams too sometimes.
Yes, that is why we end up getting scammed because they are scam artists and make it all look like it is exactly what we need at that time.
