The Fun Begins

Introduction
Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well, also that you are having a good start to the New Year.
Do realise that it is a Saturday Evening, but have family commitments for most of the day tomorrow, OK , it is taking the three lads (son, youngest grandson and eldest great grandson) to football from tomorrow morning.
As you will see this is now not quite going to the plan that I had envisaged earlier. But, that is life in the business world, we just have to fight and sort out these problems when they occur.
The Last Few Days
As I said I would do, I have spent these few days sorting things out ideas for the business and deciding where I go next.
To begin with I did a spread sheet, listing all my domains and websites, to these I added what I had on each website, such as About Me, Privacy Page and the other pages that are needed before anything else is added.
Should add that on some only I have the domain, thus far, but these still need to be considered.
I was then able to look at what I had, then look at what material was available to be used with each site, freebies are needed as is a product, not to mention a load of content.
Have now added a separate content page so that I can have a really good look at what is best for each site, then thin these sites down.
I did say that I might take a few weeks to get this sorted, so I have not been rushing, but, rather trying to get the right niche honed down.
However I did not envisage making a right mess of things. Decided to move some items into the drop box, thinking, as it turns out wrongly, that moving items here would also clear some space on the hard drive. This I have discovered is wrong, as the drop box is also on the hard drive.
Now I have a great problem, how, is it possible to clear the drop box, and not loose the material on it? Answers welcome, these items can then be moved to a USB.
Whilst this will not hold me up, it will make things go a tad slower, but I do need to get the right niche sorted out. In fact I have started a new project which I am calling.
Just One Website at a Time
Hopefully whilst I will not rush, it will make me concentrate on the job in hand.
The Next Few Days
Hope to make a decision regarding the niche, feel that I am down to two which, not only have I got a fair amount of material on each one, but also have sufficient interest in each one to make a fair crack at getting one of them to work, making them of interest to all who visit my site.
Have also got to try to sort out the drop box, as I have said before help welcome.
Will need to spend some of the time listing what I have got for the various sites which I will be short listing.
Might also re-visit some training to keep my confidence up, also to ensure that I have everything in the right order. Suppose that it is a posh way of saying making sure that I get it right the first time, and not keep making mistakes.
Conclusion
The lesson to be learned from this weeks error, is to make sure that you know what something does, before you start messing with it.
In some ways I am pleased with what I have started to do, as I feel that at last I am beginning to move in the right direction, I was certainly trying to do to much in the past, basically flitting from one bright idea to another, without actually getting anywhere.
It has certainly taken me long enough to work out that what I have been doing is not going to work.
As many of you have pointed out, one website at a time. When this is up and running on autopilot, then another one can be tried.

Hi Stuart…could you move your Dropbox items to a usb then just delete off db? Hopefully that gets sorted out. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan working one site at a time. Have a nice weekend!

You had me at spread sheets. I am the Queen of spread sheets and often people make fun of me but hey, what do you expect from a finance person. Right? They allow us to see a big picture and where things are out of balance! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it anyway!!!! 🤣
As far as the Dropbox, my daughter and I use them to transfer data to each other. Does anyone else have access to your Dropbox? When my daughter sends me stuff, sometimes I print it or save it to my own computer. I've never tried to pull stuff out of my own Dropbox but it seems like you'd be able to access your data to copy elsewhere like a usb.
I'm happy to hear that you're focusing on 1 site at a time. With one success, you'll feel more energized to move on to another.
I'm also happy to hear that you took a break today to enjoy your boys. It's all about balance and you should be thankful that they still want to hang out with you. It sounds like you are blessed!

Must confess that since I gave up running the Poppy Appeal, a few ago now, do not use spread sheets, but needed a general overview of what I have, hopefully, this will help me make the right decision, having had a look at the sheet last night have now got three to choose from.
But, so what, there is no immediate rush.
Regarding the drop box, have tried to transfer items to a usb and get the message that not everything can be posted. Now will be making a decision, just how important are these files.
Not sure about being blesses regarding the boys, I am the family Taxi service for them. My eldest Grandson does drive, but he rarely goes to football as he is saving to buy a house.
