Nearly a Blank Week
Introduction
Good Afternoon to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
For all of you who have a background in sales and marketing you will know just what the title of this weeks blog means. Very little, if anything that I intended to do, I have managed to actually do. Please do not ask why as I have little or no idea?
It has just been one of those weeks, I do know that I have slept a lot during the day as well as at night, but it has not done me any harm, at least I do not think that it has.
The Past Few Days
The highlight of the week has to be the Band of the Air Traning Corps playing at the County Gound, they not only played very well, but were well received by the crowd. I was very proud of them, the Squadron Padre came to support them, she conducted Yvonne's Funeral, when she arrived I took her for a cuppa in the Executive Lounge, which she enjoyed, meeting the Couty President whilst she was there, also renewing her friendship with the County Padre.
I was able to just about finish sorting Yvonne's estate out this week, finally taking her name of the Bank Account, also I had the cheque for her insurance policy arrive, this I have duly cashed, it almost covered the cost of the funeral, which was nice.
Now that I know how my accounts stand, I have booked another holiday, towards the end of September, I am going back to Torquay for eight nights. When I told my Son when he phoned earlier, he said that he thought that I should go some where nearer. It is barely a four hour drive, and I do stop for an hour while I eat my packed lunch, children do worry. I suppose it means that they care!
My daughter came this week having enjoyed her holiday on one of the Greek Islands, it was lovely to see her once more, I do miss her weekly visits when she canot make it.
I did manage to do a little shrub trimming, I cheated a little filling the composting bins, I emptied the three black bags which have been in the Summer House for a while. This of course has given me the idea that when the bins are full, to fill some more black bags, as I am aware that the nights are beginning to draw in, also that the days could get both colder and wetter.
Not done a lot on the business this week, I am aware what needs doing, just not had the energy to do anything this week, a little lethargic would suit how I have been. Booking my holiday has cheered me up somewhat, I am going to the Travel Lodge that I stayed in earlier this year, I do not think that the children totally approve, but I am afraid it is my life, and I will now do what I want to do!!
The Next Few Days
Looking at my planner I see that I have a Branch Meeting this week, it should be two, but one of the Branches has had to book the same night as the other one, so I am going to what I call my home branch, as I saved this from closer many years ago.
It will depend on the weather but if possible I would like to dig over some of the weed infested plots, then get some plants in which are in pots at the moment, this will give them time to get thier roots down before the Autumn frosts. We have had some rain this week so the ground should have some give in it at last. I can but hope!!
Depending on how I feel hope to get back to sorting out the web sites, could even get some more cancelled, though one kind lady suggested trying to sell some, this has given me food for thought. Think that I should possibly sort things out first.
Conclusion
I am totally amazed that having done little or nothing this week that I written so many words, must have another book in me somewhere, LOL.
If I feel like it, it could just be a busy week, funnily enough, I am looking forward to it already.
Be happy, healthy and wealthy.
Please do stay safe and take care,
God Bless,
Stuart

I want to go to Torquay, I recall asking you to go and review The Elephant Restaurant for me. You said it was not your cup of tea. Perhaps one day I will make it there myself.
Enjoy yourself and relax well!
Michael
Good evening, Stuart. I can so relate to your post, as usual. I totally understand what you mean about your children and you going to Torquay. It's funny how we used to worry about them and now as we are getting old, they worry about us. They do mean well and care, but you are right - you want to make your own decisions. Especially now that you don't need to look after anyone, you want to be able to do what you like when you like when you can afford it.
Your compost bin filling makes perfect sense! We did the same. When we moved into this bungalow last year, we actually filled a whole large shed with cuttings from bushes and trees that had been allowed to grow unchecked for the best part of a year while the bungalow was waiting to be sold. So all through the winter when we didn't create any new material, we just emptied the shed gradually putting in what would fit into the bin every two weeks. Since you don't have an empty shed, your bin bags can fulfill the same function. Store the stuff in the bin bags and then empty them into the bin every two weeks until the debris is gone.
Be glad that you can sleep well - I am sure your body needs it after what you have been through. And it's great that you have your holiday to look forward to.
Have a good week.
Isabella

Hey VH
It's not your fault you had a "blank" week. The days/weeks go by WAY TOO FAST. I blink and it's Friday again. I don't remember time moving so quickly when I was younger especially when I was working. I swear the weeks were a month long. LOL. I guess now that we're in charge of our own life, we're enjoying it more. Like they say, "time flys when you're having fun"
Now, having said that, it sounds like you had some hard times in there and when you get depressed (even if you don't think you are), you sleep more. Your body needs the rest or escape however you want to look at it. I'm sure by dealing with some of the last bits from Yvonne, it was draining. Understandable!
So jealous of your daughter getting to go to one of the Greek Isles. That's on my bucket list. It will be nice for you to get away again. It sounds like you really enjoyed Torquay if you're going back. Kids do worry but I think it works both ways regarding the worry.
I can't believe it is the first of Sep. I'm SOOOO happy. I put out my Fall stuff today and even if no one else sees it, it makes ME happy and that's what counts right? LOL The days are getting cooler and it helps with my own energy level. I just can't do the heat anymore.
I went to an Island for the day with some of the seniors. It was a fun trip. The island is VERY small with less than 500 inhabitants. There is a school that is 1-12 grade and only 1 (ONE) in the 12th grade that graduated this year. lol The island is gradually eroding and it's predicted that it won't be there more than 50 more years. It was a nice ride over on the ferry though (about an hr). The water was a little choppy but the weather was perfect and it was nice to just walk around the island for a little bit then have lunch. That fresh air made me sleep REALLY well!
Today is Labor Day here and a catch up day for me. My great grandbaby turns 2 this Sat so I had to make her a card and one for a friend. I love doing that. The rest of the week will go by fast. I'm going to start going back to my stained glass studio. I want to do a few Christmas gifts and finish my eagle.
SOOOO, you have a great week and don't worry about what you get done. It will all be there tomorrow.
Take care
Always
Your VW
Hi VW,
Did not realise that I was a little depressed, tired yes, unti I read your reply, it has cheered me up no end.
You say that you went out to an Island! which one? Forgot that you live close to the coast, wish I did! I would be there most weekends.
It does not seem two years since your great grand daughter was born, send her hug from her vitual great granddad!
I do love Torquay, we spent many a happy holiday down there, I also have some of Yvonne on our favourite beach.
I still have a lot of Yvonne's clothes to move on to the pile for my daughter to sort out, when she feels like it! I have asked my granddaughter if she would like the fur wrap, so she will come and try it on. It was rather expensive when I bought it some forty years ago, I would rather one of the girls had it, than give it away.
Having said that one of the Charity shops has said no thankyou it is too valuable.
As always many thanks for cheering me up.
Have a great week, and enjoy the fall.
As always
Your VH
Well, I'm glad I could cheer you up. I guess I accomplished something that day. lol
I'm not really close to the coast. It took a bus ride of 1 1/2 hrs to get to the ferry then another hr to cross to the island so it was a trek but a friend sat with me that I hadn't seen in a while so we were able to catch up and I had someone to hang out on the island with. It's called Tangier Island. Most of the people who live there are from there although some of the younger folks are leaving which is understandable. I'm attaching a wind blown hair pix of me in a crab chair. Cute chairs!!!
I can't believe a charity shop turned you down. I would have guessed that they'd grab it and resell it. I'm glad they did though. I hope one of the girls take the fur wrap and it stays in the family.
Yes, I can't believe my great grandbaby is 2 either. I wonder if they will be having another. They talked about doing a road trip which surprised me but it would be nice to see them. It's a 10 hr drive. I might suggest we meet 1/2 way. We'll see.
Hope your week is going well.
Hi VW,
Many thanks for this, good snap, just who is that good looking blonde on the crab chair.!!
The trip certainly sounded tiring, but you appear to have enjoyed it.
The charity shop turned me down due to the value of the fur wrap, they knew that it would be stolen!! wonderful world that we live iive in!!
It is a funny week in many ways, it was seven months on the 1st since Yvonne passed, I was Ok for most of the day, unlike last month, when I struggled.
I am doing OK, making a lot of decisions, decided after the meeting last night to let both Branches do what they will, I will go when I feel like it, not be on any committee or anything not happy with how things are being run, so I am best away, feel better for doing that.
Working hard! on sorting content and websites out, also more in depth research into the business as a whole, which I am enjoying.
The weather continues to stop any gardening, but we do need the rain.
Have a great rest of the week.
As always
Your VH
Trust me, I looked much better in the crab chair about 5 years ago. I look OLD in this one. How does this happen. No, the trip in of itself wasn't tiring although the fresh air was good for sleep.
It is so sad (and scary) what the world has become. I'm actually almost glad that I'm the age that I am. I don't WANT to see what it will become in the future. I feel bad for my grandbabies although I suppose they will know no different.
It sounds like time is helping you heal AND make some decisions about what you chose to have in your life! Good for you!!!! Keep up the good work on your websites. It sounds cathartic.
Please send some rain this way. It started getting warm again and no rain in sight. Silver lining: I haven't had to cut the grass but it's getting brown.
I'm sending pix I Iike better of me and 2 of my "babies" taken last Oct. Can you believe I gave birth to that big boy? lol I looked like a baby elephant on hind legs before he was born at 8 lbs, 15 oz. LOL
Off to pay bills. UGH. Take care
Another lovely snap, your daughter does bear resmblance to you, or also good looking!
Take care,
Your VH
