Introduction

Good Morning to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always I do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well. Yes you did read it right it is Sunday Morning, I am enjoying a coffee and realised that if time permits I would like to do a lot of work later. That is of course after I have cooked and served the roast beef, which I will enjoy with a glass of Merlot, followed by trifle and the cheese board.

Enough waffle, down to the title and what has been happening, the title will become obvious as you read the next paragraph.

It is also a really nice sunny day, have been for a walk to the shop already.

The Last Few Days

Must begin with an omission from last week, on the Saturday Night attended the Annual Poppy Appeal Presentation Evening of the local Branch of The Royal British Legion, a very nice occassion, during which the last award was to me! The Poppy Appeal long service medal for thirty years service to the appeal. Only the second medal awarded to the Branch, the last one was twenty four years ago. Also managed a foxtrot with one of the ladies.

You may recall that I also have an interest in Family History, at one time being a member of the Society of Genealogists, when I used to go to London regularly would often pop in and do some reaerch. When I stood down from the Membership Council I let my mmebership lapse as I no longer went to London.

Recently they sent me a good offer to join the diamond membership, this allows me to access all their records online, as the cost is guaranteed, decided to invest. After one brief visit have already added to my tree.

Friday saw me take my car in for its annual MOT, pleased to say that it passed.

I have been trying to get to grips with the material on my hard drive for sometime, decided to open up every file to see what they contained. Doing this has enabled me to store some of them, which I will use later in the USB, freeing up space on the hard drive.

However it was what I have found on the others that has caused me to scratch my head a little, a large number of articles which I can use on various websites and which I was totally unaware, or had forgotten about!.

Hence the title of this weeks blog, I now have the task of seeing what should go where, it will be better to put each article in the website file and then sort it out. Having said that I have already got ten articles to turn into booklets.

Did manage to spend a little time in the garden between the showers.

The Next Few Days

It will be spent sorting and allocating all the articles which I find, also hope to finally sort out the new product!!

To avoid getting bored could just sort out a new booklet or two!!

Conclusion

In many ways a wake up call, but a very useful one, just need to keep a grip on things.

Be Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy.

Please do stay safe.

God Bless

Stuart

Hello VH

Well, a medal AND a foxtrot???? Hmmmm, stepping out on my already. See how you are. LOL!!! You must be feeling much better.

You always sound like you have such good meals although Merlot is one wine that I can't drink. It goes straight to my head and I don't like that. So, I'll take that beef with some Shiraz please.

You've had a really productive week. Between the books and your garden, you're on a roll. You must have been energized with all that activity at your Annual Presentation. 🤗

I'm also happy to hear that you're getting back into the Family History. I hope you have better luck than I've had lately. I'm at a standstill and have no one that can answer questions. I have information way back on my ex's side of the family but my side is only to my great great grandfather. I suppose it's better than some. I mean can you imagine family trees now? I just read a book called "Inheritance". It's a true story about a woman who, because of Ancestry, found out that her father was not really her father. She was conceived from a donor.

Anyway, I guess I need to get to bed early tonight. I have a full day tomorrow and have had a productive weekend. So, you have a GREAT week and keep up the good work.

Always
Your VW

Hi VW,

What a wonderful way to start the week, a post from you and a long one.

Must confess that I love to dance, was taught the foxtrot after my first wife left, have since graduated to the quickstep not forgetting the waltz which I learned as a teenager, do not get the chance to dance now.

Before my first marriage a young lady and I, who I nearly got married too, were quite decent at the Jive.

I also like Shiraz, but prefer Malbac, they had not got Argentina this week, only USA.

Think that you are right Family History could be a real nightmare, I do tend to have an interest when I go to cricket as a friend is the Chairman of the County FHS, have let have borrow some of my research documents to copy for the Society.

Must close and do some work.

Take care and have a great week.

As always,

Your VH

30 years, a medal, AND a foxtrot.
Stuart, you are showing us all up, and that roast beef sounds great. I could just eat that, I'll bring my own Merlot.
searching your hard drive is sometimes like a visit to the loft. All the things you have forgotten about.
Have a great week sorting it all out, but do spend active time on your business.
Bux

Thanks for your sage advice Bux, will try to follow it.

Take care

Stuart

The sorting things out is a never ending process Stuart... happy to hear that you are keeping on top of things and keeping them simple!!

I do miss a good English roast beef, the meat over here just isn't the same as back home, no matter how much I pay for it!

Keep up the great work my friend and enjoy a wonderful start to the new week! :-)

It is expensive over here, which is why I only buy it on the odd weekend.

Have a great week.

Stuart

Same here my friend and very much appreciated! :-)

I could do with some better sorting myself Stuart! It's one of those tasks that's easy to let slip.
Congratulations on thirty years service to The Royal British Legion.

Rick

Hi Rick, sorting can be a problem, many thanks for your congrats.

Stuart

Congrats on the award and the booklets, Stuart! Sounds like you’re making good progress in your ventures. Keep up the great work. Enjoy that roast beef and Merlot and your garden!

Susan

Many thanks Susan, the roast and Merlot were superb.
