Introduction
Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family, as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.
It has been a week of mixed thoughts and ideas this week, as well as being totally shattered as I type these few notes. This is possibly due to the fact that I have done nothing but relax since lunchtime.
The morning brought a major problem regarding the cooking of the Sunday Dinner. It is possibly four maybe five years since our main oven packed up. Due to the fact that it is an integral part of the kitchen units, replacing it was never an option, due to the cost of ripping all the units out to get at the oven, then replacing the oven.
To give ue somewhere to cook, bought a mini oven, which has been fine until a couple of days ago when I burnt some pies, thought that this was my fault, until yesterday when it did it again, on the middle shelf at a low temperature, also after a short time as well.
It is obvious that the temperature control has gone, so what to do. I have years ago when we lived in Germany done roast potatoes in a deep fryer, since returning to the UK used the halogen. Still have one, so hoped that I could remember how to do them, they were OK and that is all that can be said for them.
At least I could cook the pulled pork in he microwave.
The Last Few Days
Did say that I would continue to sort products and items in the old files into dedicated ones so that I knew what I was doing, this I have continued to do.
When reading some of the files and products, I came across a number of items that I had intended to put into a shop, had some bits started.
This has resulted in me getting all the book files together in one place, well nearly as I do have a lot so sort out at the moment. Some of these books are re-written ebooks, also have a lot of colouring pages from some time ago, these I did begin to sort into books to download and sell.
It is a question now of getting things totally sorted if I do want to get the shop going with products. It is fortunate that I have so many articles ready for the website that I can afford to look at this in a sencible way, in other words not rush.
Two days this week, should say mornings, were spent in a local supermarket selling poppies. I did enjoy it seeing many old friends, though I did have a chair I prefer to stand so it has worn me out a little, hence today doing nothing but relaxing.
My general health was not helped on Tuesday when I decided to walk into Town to the supermarket, going down hill for som 2km was fine, coming back was a different story.
The Next Few Days
Will continue to see what books I have and get them all together, will be busy at the weekend, will observe the two minutes silence in the Town Centre on Saturday, then lay wreaths at two of our local War Memorials on the Sunday, one in the morning the other in the afternoon. The one on the afternoon I read the lesson at the Church Service, then lead, with the Vicar, a short service at the War Memorial.
It is always a very moving and emotional weekend for me as I remember family members and friends, who lost their lives serving their Country.
Conclusion
Apart from nearly overdoing thingss not been a bad week, as it has brought back to me items which I was sorking on a longtime ago and which really do ned sorting out.
Did a little revision, but did not touch AI.
Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy.
Please do stay safe,
God Bless.

Sometimes you just have to have a non day, Stuart, and do nothing.
As a sparky, I’ve come across lots of built in ovens and there is usually a method for removing the oven and replacing it, without a major dismantle.
Get a couple of local electricians to quote for changing the oven for you.
Good luck my friend
Bux
Hi Dave,
You could just be a super star, it is thirty years old though. Will have to speak to my granddaughters husband who has his own electricians business.
Thanks again,
Stuart
WOW, VH
It sounds like you've had quite the week!!!! Regarding your dinner, I rarely use my big oven. I have a little oven on my countertop that fits quite a lot of food. I don't like using the microwave but do. It sounds like your best option would be to just replace your little oven. They've come a long way since the toaster oven back in the day. I have NO idea how old mine is. I got it from my MIL as a hand me down.
I know just what you mean about that walking up hill. I'm good on flat land but those hills.......................whew. I get out of breath easy. I have 3 flights of stairs in my house but it seems hills are worse!
I made it back from NY. The first 2 hrs were a little scary. Of course, my MIL said I should wait to leave because of the weather but I was DONE! My car was slipping and sliding though. It was the first snowfall and roads were a little slick. Once I got out of that mess, all that I had to contend with was traffic on my end. I was determined to get home though and was tired by the time I got here.
Now to catch up and get ready for Christmas! So much to do on any given day!!!!! I don't know HOW people have time to sit around after they retire. Are we doing something wrong????? You're just as busy. I think it might keep us young though.
Well, I hope you have a great week and don't overdo.
Your VW
Hi VW,
Thank goodness that you are back home, always worry when you are in NY.
The pic is awesome, but you do get some serious snow over there. I will not comment about here in case I put the kiss of death on the winter weather.
Think that replacing the little oven might be the best idea, but Dave Bux has suggested getting aquote to remove the old one, which I might just do first.
We do Christmas in a more relaxed way these days, just the two of us, though I sometimes go out with the family on Christmas Eve.
Do have a great week and take care.
Your VH
LOL. I don't know why you worry about me in NY. I DO get stressed because it's like babysitting a child. I was raking leaves and she came out with the leaf blower which was doing more harm than good. So, I started raking with an attitude and now my upper arm is sore. I think it was God's way of telling me to be patient. lol
Anyway, just a quick comment on the oven. Honestly, I only use my oven pretty much at Christmas when I'm making cookies. Otherwise, my little oven (which costs less to use) fits some good size pans.
Just got done dealing with a scammer who I ticked off because I wouldn't allow her access to my computer OR give her my credit card number. They make me SO mad. I don't have time for such nonsense!!!!
SO, hope your week is going well.
Take care
Your VW
Hi VW,
Think that I will get a new mini oven, it will safe the hassle of having the old one replaced and I would imagine that it will cost alot more.
Until the old one packed up it was perfectly adequate for our needs.
Also get angry with scammers!!
Take care,
Your VH

Sounds like a bit of an up and down week Stuart and I am not referring to your trip to the supermarket!
As Bux as said, there is always a workaround when replacing an old oven...
Keep on being productive my friend, enjoy a fabulous remembrance week, your efforts will never go unrewarded and please take care ok! :-))
Hi Jessie,
Am wotking on a different angle regarding the oven, ut we will see.
Been to a meeting tonight and given them some pointers regarding remembrance weekend. People do work so very hard for the appeal.
Have a great rest of the week.
Take care :-)
Stuart
Well I wish you the best of luck with it Stuart!
