Introduction

The title is only a tip of the iceberg, as it will take some time to either explain or to come up with a suitable answer to the things that have gone wrong since I returned from Torquay, some four to five weeks ago.

One thing is certain, I have truly missed the company of you all, so hope that this blog will start our friendship again!

I know that I will have a lot of problems to start with, but hope that I have not lost everything that I have worked towards over the past years, and also spent an awful lot of money on.

Rather than prattle on I will try to explain what has happened.

The Last Few Weeks

As the last time that I penned a blog I was about to go on Holiday to Torquay so I will start with that.

I had a really enjoyable break, the weather was really warm, so hot in fact that on the last day that I was there that I just flopped down on the beach and enjoyed the sun.

One day I went on a Coastal Cruise, we went round the coast lines of Torquay, Brixham and Paignton, it was most enjoyable, I saw a large colony of seals in Brixham Harbour, also two colonies of Herons on the cliff sides, did not realise they lived close to the sea, just thought they were river birds, but that was corrected by my cousin who recalled that she had seen them on the coast in America.

I also saw the private beach that was used by Agatha Christie, did not realise that she was also a qualified diving instructor. We also had a Cormorant fly overhead.

All in all the trip did me the world of good. as it did when I did the South Coast Cliff walk, this led me to the Beach where I laid some of Yvonne's ashes.

Spent half a day in Paignton, which I enjoyed also spent time on beach.

When I returned home, I found that I put the wrong password into my email, after days of messing about I got a new email, the snag is that whilst I can get into WA, I have lost a lot of stuff, have written to Kyle, but as yet not sure where I stand, I do not want to lose the fact that I am Grandfathered in, or write off the thousands of dollars that I have spent, will continue to try to get back into the old posts.

I have managed to do a little gardening, also have made a start on one of my webites.

The Next Few Days

Given the time of year the next two weeks will be spent supporting the activities of the Remembrance which, as you now I support every year. In fact I am selling poppies both tomorrow and on Tuesday. Will as usual lead the Act of Remembrance, on Sunday at the local War Memorial in the village which my fathers family lived in for many years.

In between these days I will hopefully be able to get back to normal, whatever normal is!!

Do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well, and that I can now get back to some form of normality.

Be happy, healthy and wealthy.

Stay safe,

God Bless

Stuart

You had me a little worried here Stuart..... the last time I heard from you was when you were heading to Torquay!!!

I asked my friend 'Basil' and his wife 'Syble' (something like that) told me you were fine and enjoying yourself on the beach there!!!

Happy to hear that you made it back in one piece and we all experience uphills as well as downhills when it comes to the internet!!

Take care of yourself my dear friend and enjoy the rest of your week! :-)))

We don't indeed Stuart!! -))))

Hey VH

Welcome back. I'm glad you enjoyed your time off and do understand computer issues. I just don't have patience with such things. I get frustrated easily when technology doesn't work or I mess up (which is more likely the case). Anyway, glad you're back safe and sound. We were worried about you.

You'll have time to get things done now that it's starting to get cold. You'll be inside more so hang in there. You'll figure out what normal is for you but it will take a while. Yvonne's passing is really still fresh. It's not something you get over quickly.

Once again I've been gone all day to church and having a long lunch with a coworker and her husband. I used to be her WORK mother. It's fun to see how they grow from college intern to woman doing very well in her career. Her husband is military and they just came back here so I can be her VA mother. Her real mom and dad live in TX. Not that I don't already have enough on my plate already. LOL

I'm SO sorry I volunteered to hostess a table for my church Christmas party. I'm stressing over how to put it together. Of course everything has to be PERFECT but in doing so, it's costly in time and money. I won't do it again. I get overextended then feel overwhelmed.

My kids will come here for Christmas and there will be a lot to do to prepare for that as my house here is quite small compared to the one I used to have but I'll make it work somehow. We were used to all meeting at my mother in laws. New traditions now.

Well, you enjoy your week back home and get caught up. I'll be leaving next Sat for a week but will try to touch base with you.

Take care of yourself

Hi VW,

So very grateful for all the lovely messages from people who have missedme, it does me apower of good to know that I have such good friends.

You are so like me, volunteer for anything, then realise that you really do not have the time to do it.

You say that your house is smaller, did you move as I thought that you had five bedrooms?

No doubt you will manage, good that the children are coming, it will be fun.

Not had any invites as yet, it does save me from saying No, as I want to be on my own this year with my memories. Years ago they would either come here or we would go to one of them.

Where are you off to on Saturday, where ever it is enjoy yourself.

Take care,

As aways

Your VH

I do NOT volunteer willingly! It's only when I feel like I have no other choice like they're REALLY needing people and no one is coming forward. Then I feel guilty and say I'll do it. I AM getting a little better with other commitments though like people wanting me to go places. I have enough on my plate. My time out of the house is strategically planned.

The house I had in FL had 4 good size bedrooms with a 2 car garage and was a stand alone. This one is a townhouse with 3 small bedrooms and only a 1 car garage so I have little space for storage. I would have purchased a bigger one here in VA but I decided to not let the government buy my house in FL and I was going to be paying 2 mortgages on 2 brand new houses. I panicked since it's only me. I have yet to find that man of my dreams to help with bills.

Alone time for your memories is fine and I totally get that as that's how I would be BUT maybe it might be good if the kids came to you. I know I always dread company when I feel like being alone but once they are here, I realize it's just what I needed.

Sat I'm off to NYC for the day to see the Rockettes one last time. Sun I travel to a friends to head to Tennessee for the week. I was disappointed that my grandkids didn't want to go this summer even though I do understand them not wanting to spend 15 hrs in a car. So, a friend of mine found a trip going just to tour and I'm going with her. We get back on Thurs late and Fri morning, I'll drive to Pennsylvania to spend the weekend with my hiking group. I hope I have the energy for all this. I'm sure there will be some early mornings and I've never traveled with this lady before.

Anyway, just finished paying all my bills for the month waiting for the guy to come and install a component in my stove. I just looked up prices and maybe I should have just purchased a new stove. I don't get a warm fuzzy with this guy. Send up a prayer for success please.

You have a great week. Again, welcome back to the real world. πŸ€—

Hi VW,

Understand regarding your property (I think!).

Do remember the Rockettes just about, did not realise that you were a fan! Hope that you had a great weekend.

Things have changed regarding Christmas, my daughter has been for her weekly visit and tells me that they are going to Ypres, one of Yvones cousins who was shot down during WWII is buried not too far from there between us we have found the grave, Steve has been and Gillian would like to go, it has been on her bucket list for years.

If I invite Richard and family we are talking eleven more to feed and I do not really want that this year, also my dining table will only seat eight at the most. I might just see how much the local pub are charging this year, it is all of 200 yards from my house! (Though it is uphill. lol)

Prayers as requested.

Did enjoy selling poppies, also seeing people whom I have not seen for a long time.

Have a great rest of the week and enjoy all that you do.

It is just great being back with the WA Family.

God Bless

As always
Your VH

Well VH,

Thought I'd do a quick reply. I'm pretty tired and once again, have to get up early. I have someone coming to finally install a new component in my oven. This companies customer service is sorely lacking!!!! I needed the oven done before the holidays though.

I got home VERY late last night. I went with a friend to see a performance called "The Thorn" It was very good but a long drive. It was narrated by the disciple John when he was an old man. He started the story from the beginning of the bible through the resurrection. If you didn't understand the bible, it would be confusing as the only one who spoke was John but there was a lot of action and aerial performances. They did a great job. It was inspiring to see a good number of young adults (16-19) there.

Then I had to get up early this morning. As I was coming home, the pastors wife text me and asked for help this morning. How do you say no to that??? lol

So, now I'm working my list of things to do before I leave. Have laundry in the washer. It will be a fun 3 back to back trips but tiring. I've seen the Rockettes once but wanted to see them one last time. I never liked venturing into NYC. It always scared me. Too many people, too much crime.

I'm sad that you might spend Christmas at the pub. Eleven would be hard though so I can see your point with that. You want peace and quiet to process everything.

Well, I'm headed to bed. So, you behave while I'm gone. lol

Always
Your VW

Hi VW,

Delayed the reply to this in the hope that it is waiting for you on your return.

Regarding the Pub on Christmas Day, it will depend on the menu and the coat, as I have enough festive type food in so I can cope!!

The reason that I would not mind going it is has been my 'local' for many years and I know so many people that drink in therethought that the company would do me good.

I did go in after parde on Sunday, I was greeted with a free pint for 'My Service'

Sat with old friends, saw anumber more, those that I sat with came to Yvonne's funeral.

At the Act of Remembrance yesterday the newly elected Chairman, a very good friend of mine asked me if I would go back to my old Branch as the President to help him get it sorted out. As I saved it from closure along with him many years ago, and it is a founder Branch of the Legion, I will accept his offer.

Must close, as I need to go to the opticians, my glasses have fallen apart.

Hope that the trip went well and that you have a great week.

As always
Youor VH

It's so good to see your Sunday blog again and to know that you are well.

Your holiday does sound wonderful and you were so lucky with the weather.

I looked at your profile and everything seems to be fine and the way it was before. And since you've contacted Kyle, I am confident that your 'Grandfathered in' status won't have changed.

Wishing you all the best for the coming week. Just sort one thing after the other and you'll get there. It's not a race. Winter is approaching and there won't be so much new growth in the garden so you'll be able to catch up.

Take care.

Isabella

2

Hi Isabella,
Thanks for your comments, think that you are right regarding my Grandfathered status, had a look and the renewal is the same as last year, Kyle did say he would try to sort it, look as if he has.

Just need dry weather to get onto the garden.

Take care,

Stuart

2

Hi Stuart,

It's so great to have you back! That's what I like about Wealthy Affiliate - I really trust Kyle and Carson to look after their members and do their best to sort problems.

We are going to Burford today to meet friends. (It's roughly in the middle between Oxford, where we used to live, and Cheltenham, where we live now.) Will be thinking of you when I see the poppies for sale everywhere.

Take care,

Isabella

2

Hi Isabella,

Burford rings a bell in the past somewhere. trouble is I have been just about all over the UK.

Must drop Kyle a posy to say thanks.

Take care,

Stuart
