Introduction

Good Evening to all you lovely people at the Great WA Family as always do so hope that you are all keeping both safe and well.

Appreciate that this is rather late for my weekly blog, but each day seems to get just busier than the previous one.

I know that you will understand if this is a lot shorter than normal, but we will just have to see how much I can find to talk about.

I must once again thank you all for very kind messages regarding Yvonne, also you very kind comments when I became an Ambassador, this of course may be very short lived due to my caring for my wife.

The Last Few Days

Since Yvonne arrived home I have not only been kept very busy looking after her, but also the countless other jobs that this has meant. Being a full time carer is certainly demanding. I do have three carers a day to help me, did have four but decided that the lunchtime one was a waste of time as she was meant to do Yvonne's lunch, which I do.

The lady will be much more use caring for someone who needs her.

The washing machine is certainly very well used, some days I have three washes to do, at least I now know how to use the machine lol!

However back to the title of this blog, the other day my daughter-in-law phoned and said that she and my daughter would sit with Yvonne so I could go to the football this afternoon, as I am the only one with a car think that was another reason as I take her husband, son and grandson with me.

Did not enjoy the result, but being able to shout at all on the pitch helped me to vent my frutration with the current situation.

I have had a number of visitors, some offering help, others telling me how much it will cost to have Yvonne at home.

We have both agreed that she will stay here.

When the Doctor came on Tursday (I think it was) we had a long and useful chat. I mentioned that the hospital said that it was a tumor, to which she replied it is definitely cancer, I have the findings of the MRI scan here.

Must confess that some mornings it is a real mess as the cancer bleeds a lot over night.

One morning the carer was very late and I was aked by Yvonne if I could help, she let me take her night wear off, wash her all over, then replace the special pants and her night dress. I no longer will worry if the carer is late again.

The other side of the coin was that the carer was very early one morning, I was still in bed, that day I was in agony with my spine, could barely walk, so after she had gone, I did Yvonne's breakfast and my own, made sure that she was comfortable and went back to bed, sleeping for two hours, but it did me good as my spine was much more comfortable, I know that I am a fool, but I refuse to take painkillers unless I really cannot bear the pain.

I have no wish to be addicted to them.

Last week I said that the business had to take a back seat, find that around eleven each evening I have a glass of Malbec and visit my websites, not much is getting done in such a short space of time, but it does keep things ticking over.

The Next Few Days

Feel certain that it will be the same as last week and that this will continue for sometime, but that is one of those things.

If time does permit there are a number of things which I would like to sort out, but will not wory if that does not happen.

Time to settle Yvonne down for the night, so will close for now.

Be Happy, Healthy and Wealthy,

Please do stay safe,

God Bless.

Stuart

Stuart

Much appreciated Stuart... feeling a bit better now!

Take care as well my friend and enjoy the rest of your week ok!

👍🙏

Hope that you may do the same.

Cheers my friend!

🙏🙏

Whew, VH

You have so much on your plate. I admire your willingness to take care of her. I'm just not good at that kind of thing. I don't do blood really well. Thankfully my kids didn't have any catastrophic accidents that resulted in a lot of blood AND my sister in law (who is a hospice nurse) was available to take care of my MIL when she needed complete care.

Three loads of laundry some days?!?!? That's a lot in itself. You DESERVE that glass of wine at night but 11:00? You don't seem to be getting enough rest yourself but then you know that and are doing what you need to do. I understand.

So, I will continue my prayers for you and Yvonne and that you WILL try to take care of yourself as well.

Always
Your VW

Hi VW,

Many thanks as always for your kind and thoughtful comments, as usual very much appreciated.

Strange to relate blood has never bothered me,I did spend around fifty years as a first aider!

The laundry was caused by the need to wash two sheets and a lot of other stuff, but I did manage it!!

You say 1100 at night, but I have not gone to bed before midnight for a very long time. Must confess that before Yvonne became so poorly I did have a nap in the afternoon.

Promise to try to look after me as well, did a mixed grill tonight as I was aware that I was not eating enough.

As it is past 11pm I am enjoying a glass of Malbec!!

Heard today that whilst the carers will change to a different Company tomorrow, I have been granted 'free' care for some 10/12 weeks, saves the bank account for a while.

Think that this means that I will have to get some money into the business before I start getting charged, as i do not really want to start to eat into my savings!

Will spend a few minutes looking at some ideas that I have, then it is time for bed.

So will Goodnight and God Bless, have a most wonderful week.

As always,
Your VH

Continued prayers for strength for you and healing for Yvonne!

"Life’s challenges may feel overwhelming, but remember, strength is not about never falling—it's about rising every time you do. You are not alone; your courage, love, and resilience inspire more than you know. Hold on to hope, one step at a time."

Howard,

What a wonderful paragraph, many thanks for sharing.

I know from caring for my dad how trying it is emmotionally. So glad you were able to take in a game and vent some. God bless you and your family.

Thank you for your kind words, which are much appreciated.

Stuart, I'd like to echo Timotheus' reply. You certainly do have a challenging situation right now, and you are handling it so well. Keep up the good work and do, indeed, take care of yourself. I hope things get a bit easier for you soon.

Many thanks, Tim, so kind.

Stuart

Thank you so much.
