The Key to Online Success

As I sit here on this chilly November day, I am reflecting on how far I've come and how much I've learned. Even though I cannot even begin to list everything here, there is one key thing I've learned from Wealthy Affiliate that has stuck with me.

Like most college students, this is the point in the semester where everyone is exhausted, intellectually drained, and dreading finals. But unlike most college students, I have been trying to build and maintain my website so that it starts generating revenue.

I'm nearly done with Entrepreneurship Training level 4, but I feel like I'm way behind others who joined around the same time as me. It's hard to dedicate time to studies and my website. I think I've been balancing the two very well, but I do wish on some days that I had more time to dedicate to my website.

Every time I am working through a lesson in the training, I am tempted to skip over a video or hurry through a task. But then I remember how valuable the videos have been, how important quality content is, and how worth it this will be in the long run.

And that's the key thing I've learned. No matter how little or how much time you are able to dedicate, make that time count.

Though I may be moving at a slower pace than most, I am creating quality progress, and I know that ultimately that will be better than finishing faster.

As far as goals go, I would like to be generating regular monthly revenue by March. Then I would like to be making $350/month by September.

Exciting times are ahead!

Hi there! I understand how it is because I am working on my website, doing an online Msc in Geographic Information System and I also work around 35 hours/week and a kitchen in the washing up area. Tough times... but you are doing pretty well. I have taken a look at your website and it is awesome!

Just keep consistent and the results will come!
All the best and good luck!

Thank you so much for your encouragement and for taking the time to visit my website! You sound like a hard worker yourself, best of luck to you as you continue!

Rachel,
That is great advice and so true! Everyone works at a different pace but it is what you learn and do that is important.
You continue going and moving forward and you will succeed and reach your goals!
Sheila

Thanks so much, Sheila!

Best advice.....don't compare with the progress/position of others.....the other day I read about someone who did not start building their first website until almost 4 years in WA. You have the strongest foundation; you are not skipping anything and allowing the knowledge to 'sink in'.....in the long run it is you that will be on top.

That is true. Thanks for the encouragement!

Your are sincerely most welcome....once I tried to go too fast....paid fo it dearly and now steady she goes!

u must be doing something right 481 is a good ranking --- represents some 60-90 hrs work normally so u r up there

You can achieve your goal if you don't quit.

You are doing great. Keep moving forward.

Thanks so much for the encouragement!

Well done Rachael, doesn't matter how long it takes. You are taking action and moving forward. I am sure you will reach your goals in fact I would be so bold to say you will surpass your goals and rally surprise your self.
Alexander

Thanks for your kind words! I hope that is true as well, thanks for reading my post!

I know how you feel, I work 11 hours a day at the least and had to work this weekend, so it puts me with 12 days at work. My wife works nights and then there is also the kids.
Don't rush the internet isn't going anywhere, I know I have been using Microsoft programs since 1994, which means I started on windows 3.11. I'm sure there are even older guys and gals out here that started on MS DOS, so when you think about that you realize, how we have come along way since 1985, 1995, 2005, and now 2015.
So remember to have fun with it.
Robert

Thank you, Robert! It sounds like you are a very hard worker and I'm sure that doesn't go unnoticed.

I learned a long time ago, don't work hard for recognition, but for your own integrity. However, it is always nice when you are gone for a week and everyone tells you they are glad you are back. :)

Thank you for your blog I also enjoy learning about WA and online marketing, When I go thru the lessons I try to take my time I bet you like your progress with your website building I have, I hope the best to your success.

Thanks so much!

Hi Rachel - it doesn't matter how long it takes - the #1 thing is you're taking action - which is why you, over and above anyone else you know that just wants to earn more money (but just expect it to be handed to them), will succeed.

Only those that don't set goals and don't take action, fail - you've done both so far (set your goals, and taken action), so are so far ahead of so many others...

All the best, Mark

Thank you so much, Mark! That is really encouraging and I really appreciate it.
